It can be argued whether you need to use a tool like this or not as there are various thoughts on how to apply and spread thermal paste but if you like to make sure that the paste is spread before applying the cooler then this is a cheap and handy little tool to have. It is made of sturdy plastic so it shouldn't break on you while spreading the thermal paste and can easily be cleaned for re-use later, even though you do get a pack of three, so should last for a number of applications. This just makes spreading the thermal paste so much easier and cleaner.

Great little tool for even distribution of thermal paste. Have used them a lot and have had no problems. Reminds me of the spoons you get from the ice cream van. Highly Recommend 😊

Work well, flexible so you can try spread thermal paste across the CPU properly but seems like there will be a little bit of thermal paste left on the spatula. Will just have to put the tiny bit to waste.

Needed a little help to ensure a good fit CPU. Perfect for the task. Home built PC up and running. Temperature maintains 'low' coupled to water cooled fan system. This helped ensure thermal paste went where needed.

Vorab: Den "gut gemeinten" Ratschlag eines anderen Rezensenten, einen Eislöffel zu verwenden bitte nicht allzu ernst nehmen. Ich sage nur: Zu steif, viel zu scharfkantig und in der Regel nicht plan genug. Am falschen Ende gespart bringt die beste Wärmeleitpaste nichts. Wenn schon vollflächig aufgetragen, dann bitte gescheit, möglichst dünn und gleichmäßig. Dafür gibt es viele Möglichkeiten und - um dies bereits vorwegzunehmen - diese Spachtel sind eine davon. Die Spatel liegen mit einer Gesamtlänge von ca. 8cm im "Normbereich". Der flache Kopf hat eine Breite von 15mm, wenn man die starke Rundung am oberen Ende abzieht, bleibt eine effektive Spachtelbreite von rund 11mm. Polypropylen als Material macht sie mechanisch robust und chemisch recht inert. Die Oberfläche ist leicht angeraut, das ist beim auftragen von Vorteil. Das Material ist recht flexibel, des Spachtel federt daher, das bügelt ein wenig die Imperfektionen der händischen auftragens aus. Suboptimal finde ich persönlich den angeschrägten Kopf, das erschwert den gleichmäßigen Druck auf voller Breite. Der Kopf ist übrigens weitaus schräger, wie die Produktfotos suggerieren. Die Spachtelkanten sind beidseitig abgerundet, das ist elementar für den gleichmäßigen Auftrag, wir wollen die Paste ja schließlich auftragen und nicht abkratzen. Zum Teil befindet sich jedoch noch ein Hauch von einem Grat zwischen den Rundungen, daher den Spachtel immer etwas schräg und nie im rechten Winkel aufsetzen. Reinigen lasen sie sich problemlos mit etwas Alkohol, Isopropanol, Elektronik-Reiniger oder was die Werkstatt sonst an ähnlichem anzubieten hat. Fazit: Vielleicht nicht perfekt, aber die beste mir bekannte Fertiglösung die im Handel erhältlich ist. Momentan kosten 3 Stück € 4,83. Wenn ich jetzt rund 3 Euro für den Prime Versand herausrechne, kostet der Spachtel rund 60 Cent pro Stück - das geht in Ordnung. Summa summarum komme ich auf rund 4,5 Sterne, die ich hier guten Gewissens aufrunde.

Obviously great quality and it last your lifetime, I use the thermal paste spread method always it's the best method other methods they work but causes mess later.
