Dinosaurs: Encyclopedia Prehistorica

An excellent and impressive book. I bought it for a 5 year old great granddaughter, the youngest age reccomended. She is well behaved and treats books well but some supervision will probably be needed for a while as I would imagine the very effective, open up, models could easily be damaged. If considering a purchase the delivery period was quite long.

I bought this for my 4 yr old grandson who is well into his dinosaurs. He knows all the names. And puts me to shame as I only know about 3. The 3d pop ups are realistic and very well constructed. He’ll treasure this book and will spend lots of enjoyment with his parents reading to him aswell as our selves.

Thus is the third copy of thus excellent book, which has delighted all the recipients, and their parents too. A bargain at the price as the paper mechanics are fabulous.

Absolutely stunning....a very special and amazing book which on the face of it might seem to not consist of very many pages but in actual fact not only do those pages have the most wonderful "pop-up" images imaginable but every page also holds a secret little pocket with even more surprises. I have purchased this as a birthday gift for a little boy who is dinosaur-crazy but I'm going to have to include a little note to his Mum and Dad that it is worthy of care and cherishing for the future as it is so beautifully,fragilely constructed and not meant for clumsy handling. This is a book that all ages from childhood to adulthood can be treasured as something out of the "norm" and I highly recommend to anyone considering purchasing; it is classy outside and a real "wow" factor within. It may seem pricey in terms of page numbers but believe me,it is worth every penny and more.

This book is amazing, it is quite pricey so I was expecting quality and that it what you get. I hope we can keep it in this condition. The pop ups are quite intricate and there are several on each page. There is loads of information about dinosaurs. Fabulous book for a dinsoaur lover. I bought it for our 6 year old son but will supervise when he reads it as you have to carefully tuck everything back before you turn each page. Magical book though.

Can't stress how amazing the quality of the Pop-Ups are in this book. Also have to mention, just cos you get one in the set (they have other books too, such as one on fairies) doesn't mean they are all as good as each other. We got the "Fairies and Magical Creatures" one too and weren't impressed with the written content. Sure it's about the pop-ups, but it's incomplete for a growing child without decent content. Kids really loved the dinosaur one in her class (she was 5 when we bought it) and also.. do take note, don't buy it used. These pop-ups are gorgeously artistic but quite delicate. We bought the fairy one used and not all the Pop-Ups closed properly and I thought it might just be a simple repositioning, but I couldn't fix them. So.. all in all - thumbs up for the Dino one - educational, entertaining and breathtaking :)

There are certain books we had in our childhood that invoke nostalgia and a deep regret that we didn't hang on to them - if I had received this book as a child both of those feelings would apply. Anyone who has small children who are interested in dinosaurs should get this book - it is worth every penny. Bought if for a friends five year old boy and every page was met with a "wow". A truly beautiful book, wonderfully illustrated with perfectly constructed pop ups. I am sure it will continue to bring joy to the reader for many years.

Compré este libro para regalárselo a mi sobrino de 9 años y le encantó. Es un tesoro. Los pop Up son increíbles, es muy completo, no te cansas de descubrir pestañas nuevas. ¡¡Acierto seguro!! Lástima que únicamente en inglés porque todos los pop Up de este señor son INCREÍBLES (yo tengo otros dos diferentes)

I ordered this as it looked brilliant from the description and pictures. I have to say that when it arrived I was not disappointed. In fact it exceeded my expectations with multiple pop-outs on each page with little narratives on the evolution of dinosaurs. Its a little old for my 3 YO however he was still blown away by the pop-outs. I have bought the other 3 in the series and if they release more I will buy these as well. Excellent books.
