We ordered this screen to make it convenient to use. It pulls down from our ceiling and the Slow Return Mechanism (SRM) works great. Just a little tug and up it goes. I was concerned about how to mount in on our ceiling (It is nearly 10 feet long) but when the screen arrived I pleased to see that Elite has enhanced the mounting brackets so you can attach each mounting bracket to a ceiling joist and when the screen is installed you can slide it through the brackets to the location you choose. Tighten a screw under each bracket and that's it. Great Enhancement!! My wife is enjoying watching some awesome National Park videos. Happy wife, happy life.

Love this screen. I got the white one with the slow roll manual retract. The picture is great with my budget projector. I really debated between this and the powered version but I didn't want to spend the extra money. Let me say this is the perfect combination of price and ease of use. I don't think I'd want to get the one without the slow retract mechanism. It works really well. I have this mounted in my living room in front of a big 5x8 window. When its down barely any light comes through. When up it blends in really well with the trim and window. In fact the brackets for the curtains are bigger than the housing so i can pull the curtains shut and you dont even see it. Keep in mind though if its going in front of a window you will probably need to put a spacer behind it since the screen drops down almost flush with the wall. If your window has trim you will need to put a spacer that's the same depth as your trim. I just got another piece of flat trim and screwed it to the wall then mounted the screen to that. Yes it has a tiny bit of waves but I dont even notice them. If you are gonna complain that your screen was not perfect then go spend $1000 on a high end tensioned screen. This is not that. But this will satisfy probably 99% of the people out there.

It seems like these screens are a gamble. For the price, it's not ... bad. I've got three strikes against this product though. Mine arrived with a dent on the metal. The box was fine, but the metal was dented. Not a severe dent, though. Also, the metal flared out a bit around the opening. I was able to massage and bend the metal by hand a bit, and now you can't really see any flaw with the metal casing unless you're right on it. So, problem mitigated, but a quality issue nonetheless. Installation wasn't bad, however the sides rise above the top of the casing - so it didn't mount flush with the ceiling. In my basement, I've only got 6'10" of clearance, so this wasted some space at the top. Still, though, not a big deal. Just another minor detail. The third strike is the one that really bugs me, though. The projected image (full-screen 16:9) has waves on it. Most noticeable when using a computer on the display, or watching a station like CNBC with a ticker. Also in movies with subtitles, sometimes the subtitles look like they're on a wave rather than straight. The screen doesn't hang flat. I used my laser level to hang this, and confirmed the screen is mounted perfectly level. (I had assumed other reviewers might not have had a level mount.) Also, the documentation recommended leaving the screen down in a warm room for a period of time. Done, yet the waves are still there. Another reviewer mentioned that "tensioner" screens are the way to go. Wish I had seen that review before buying. I would have likely wound up buying a fixed configuration screen. I will probably wind up fashioning my own tensioning solution. In the meantime though, I've got a screen that's ... OK, but a bit of a letdown. Would've gladly paid more and purchased something else to have something better. 2.5 stars out of 5, rounded down to 2 stars since I feel this product is currently overrated on Amazon. Oh, also, my delivery window was 9am to 9pm. That wasn't very convenient...

Your average-married-family guy review: I recently reconfigured my home theater room with a projector. Not wanting to break the bank since I haven't used projectors before I decided to go with the Elite Screen 100" Manual Pro Slow Retract Model. Installation was a breeze as I had another help me mount and simply used two heavy-duty drywall anchors (rated at 45lb a piece) to attach it to the ceiling with hooks. The quality seems great. The housing is nice and seems sturdy. After mounting, I was able to pull it down easily and it will automatically hold at certain points so you don't have to re-position your projector after every pull-down. Slow retract works as described but was a little louder than the demo-video portrays. The screen itself seems to be made of a great material - great whites and a black border that kills any light overlay. The downside is - yes, there are some waves in this screen (this isn't a tension-ed screen) and they seem to be getting a bit worse... mainly towards the bottom middle of the screen. They aren't huge at this point and when the movies are playing or the games are going - I can't really notice them. However, if the picture is bright and contains a lot of white - they can be noticed. Over overall happy with my purchase for the price. I think it's a great screen for the money and would have 5 stars for sure if there were no waves. Pros: Great price/value, nice bright screen, good materials, slow retract looks nice Cons: Some small waves in the center bottom, slow retract is a little noisy UPDATE! 3/6/15 - I contacted Elite Screens tech support after doing some research online and they confirmed that using an electric hair dryer on low-to-medium heat ON THE REAR of the screen (not the front or you could damage it) could remove most/all of the waves. Keep the hair dryer approx. 2-3 inches away and keep it moving constantly in small, circular motions. This removed most/all of the waves in my screen. I'm added +1 star for their great support (talked to a live person immediately with no waiting) and the fact that the waves were resolved. It's not 100% perfect but then again its a non-tension-ed $150 screen.

The Elite Screens Manual SRM Pro is just over the top and buy far the best purchase I have ever made at Amazon! This Elite Screens Manual SRM Pro is just Majestic. I love the way the blu ray movies look on this 120" screen. I have only had it for 1 night and I am Wowed! I can't wait to get more movies on that screen. I bought this as a cheaper, interim screen while I work on my home theater where I ultimately will be installing a larger (120") ceiling-recessed screen. The case is a nice pearl-white metallic paint on the metal case with white plastic endcaps. It's an attractive looking case for the price. It was easy to install, I chose to wall mount it using the keyhole slots in the endcaps. It can also be hung from the ceiling using the two loops on the endcaps. Now on the the important thing, the actual pull down screen... Unfortunately I the first one I received had a couple of fairly pronounced wrinkles near the bottom of the screen, equally spaced about 12"-18" from the pull down handle, right above the weight bar. It's hard to tell if the package could have been tweaked during shipping, or if it came that way from the manufacturer. It seems like it may have happened while testing in the factory? When you were sitting any distance from the center-line of the projector to the screen, the wrinkles were very noticable so I called Amazon and had them ship me a replacement. The replacement was also wrinkled, but maybe only 40-50% as bad as the first one so I decided to keep it (unless the wrinkles bother me too much in the next couple of weeks). I will try to post a picture or two if I get a chance. The material is the MaxWhite FG (fiberglass backed). Maybe the added stiffness of the fiberglass is what contributed to the wrinkles in the screen (and unfortunately that's what the fiberglass is trying to prevent)... In the areas above the wrinkles, I will say that it is nice and flat. The image looked fairly good, nice and bright in a dark room, contrast was good (my projector is the Epson 8350 - I got a good price during Amazon's Cyber Monday sales). I just can't say that it is more than 20% better than shining it on a bare, white-painted wall. But like I said this was purchased as an inexpensive interim screen and I'm hoping the ceiling-recessed screen will not have the wrinkles (The more rigid case along with not applying force to the center of the screen bottom will hopefully help it to not develop the wrinkles before it gets to me.) If there had been no wrinkles, I would have given this a five-star review, but because it looks like it's just too difficult to get this from the factory to the consumer in perfect condition, I'm giving it three...

I've been a home theater enthusiast since the 90's. I've owned and built a handful of fixed frame screens and tweaked and nodded them over the years with D65 grey, screen goo, Mississippi mud mix and a few other hobbyist screen treatments. Each of these projects had their pros and cons but compared to this very reasonably priced manual pull down I've got to say I like this screen best. I am pleasantly surprised it arrived in tip top shape and after several trials of the mechanics up and down shows no sign of any defects or warping. The image is incredibly uniform across this screen. I'd previously used a 100" fixed frame but swapped it to this pro fiberglass backed 100" manual so I can put it away and let my toddler watch cartoons on a regular TV in the same room. The really striking thing about this screen to me is the calibration to my previous DIY D65 grey screen matches this screen exactly. The blacks have the detail and the whites and colors pop just right. I'm an experienced eye for cheaper screen technology and I can say without regret I will be keeping an eye on this company for future projects. Fit and finish and performance of this screen for the cost is right on the money. Great job guys.

Low quality, wrinkled, broken parts, poor workmanship and absolute no support. They may be shipping renewed items and selling as new. Good luck contacting support.

Reading some of the other reviews I want worried that it would be wrinkly or creased but I took a chance because it's a good deal. No problems with mine. Build quality is good, nice and flat. Slow return works great. Amazing value for $400.

I am using this screen with Optoma HD27. Easy to install. Image clarity is awesome. I don't see any issues with the image quality. Image is clearly visible from side view also. This is my best buy so far.

I am using it with my 4K projector. I believe only this screen can do justice with a 4K projector. Since it is using fiberglass material, there is no visible wave.

マックスホワイト「FG」は流石に平面性が優れている。以前使っていた吊り下げ式のスクリーンは景色を横に流す画面では、明らかにスクリーンが波打っている場所があって興ざめしたが、本商品はそれが全くない。更に、何故か長時間見ていても目が疲れないところが良い。 電動でなくても、収納はスムーズにできます。スクリーンを下ろすのも簡単です。本体の重量を考えると壁の強度が心配なので、カッコ良さは犠牲にしてもこれで充分でしょう。 注意すべき点は次の３点。 1、意外に重い。壁が壊れるのではないかと心配して先ず壁に板を打ち付けてその板にスクリーンを取り付けた。また、この程度の重さでも本体が長いので余程の怪力の持ち主でない限り、一方の端を持って取り付け次にもう一方に取り掛かるというのは一人では難しい。私はチェーンを使って一方を仮に吊り下げ、もう一方を正式に取り付け、再び仮に吊り下げた方を正式に取り付けた。それでも余程正確に穴の位置を計測して決めておかないと穴が合わなくて苦労する。 ２、壁に取り付ける穴とネジがしっかり保てるかどうか不安になる。本体が重いので外れることはないと思うが地震でもあると簡単に外れそうだ。この取り付け方式を改善してほしいので星一つ減。 ３、テレビはスクリーンの画面にピッタリ合うが、ブルーレイの映画などは上下が切れることがあり、意外に小さく見える。スクリーンサイズから考えて想定内とは言え少し残念。しかし私の６畳の間ではこのサイズが限界。
