Ran pump for about a week and then took them out had a back up pack of filter balls. Washed these off good a lot of water out put them in a netted bag for the washer. Washed, dryed and tada good as new they were all fluffed back up and ready for use. Even though these were green and nasty they were crispy white after a good washing. Review: Excellent pool upgrade - We are using these in our sand filter this year. They are working great and keeping the pool nice and clear. You will need to invest in a mesh laundry bag to wash them in, which I think should be included. This is the reason for the one star loss. Contents were vacuumed packed and packaged very well. I use canister filters on my 125 gallon aquarium and I’m always in the market for filtering material such as this product. The filter balls are definitely if quality and have a good feel to them, meaning they have substance. They will serve my purposes well in filtering out debris from my aquarium tank. It makes a fine addition to the several medium types already in my filter. So far I am very pleased with the quality of the product.
