Is this one sufficient for a 13 year old beginner geology student or would the 22oz one be better?

The 14oz is fine for any one. If it doesn't do the business on a rock outcrop you should be using a club hammer and cold chisel.

"Whats it made of are' or is the This a Lifetime type tool ?

I've used estwings before, borrowed I'm afraid but I use mine for fossil hunting as do many geologists I know and it is highly recommended. So I bought my own.

Good quality hammer that will last

This is an absolute lovely hammer. Always good quality and we are expecting to have years of enjoyment and use out of it. Bought as an upgrade of our older hammer and we aren't disappointed.

Not happy.. Item has arrived in what appears to be second hand condition? Signs of rust and chips in the product. Not impressed.
