I was literally about to throw away several pairs of workout pants because the elastic waistband was completely shot. Decided to give these a try as a last-ditch effort—and I’m really glad I did. I have numerous pairs of old but good sweat pants and sweat shorts. The elastic waist pull cords have lost their stretch. Sliding one of these spring locks over the old cord allows you to sinch the waist up snug, and the lock holds it there. They stand up to washing machine just fine. Handy to have, and I imagine I will likely find additional uses for them.

These helped keep my son’s pants from Falling do m because tying the strings don’t work well. The string becomes untied. The only issue I have is that the hole to pull the strings through is small. The strings cannot be too wide. Look for cord locks that are larger.

These work well with different options to create paracord holders. They are quire 'tight' and have good grip after the cord is placed. I'm using them and like them. The bright color helps me keep track of them. Two ends of cord will go through the opening.
