This nesting box looks nice and is a good shape and size. However the wood is very soft which my birds chewed a whole very quickly in the bottom of the box making it useless

Fits both of my cockatiels perfectly and they love it.

The size is too small for cockatiels to breed in. Cockatiels have long tails so this would be very hard for them to turn or move in. The metal circle protecting the opening from being chewed on was very sharp on the edges and would cause injury especially if they put their tongues on it. I was able to remove it thankfully. The ventilation holes are a good idea to keep fresh air coming in. The top hinge lid needs to be able to open on both side, like a picnic basket, hinged in the middle and either side can open up. That way no matter which side of the cage it's installed on, a person can always open it from the front. Having it open up on only one side is very inconvenient and difficult to use.
