Spigen Rugged Armor Phone Case Compatible with Sony Xperia 1 V - Matte Black

This case feels rugged but is light and slim. Having dropped the phone on one occasion using this case, it provided good protection and there was no phone damage. I have used Spigen cases in the past and they have always seem good quality. I would have liked this to have a built in kickstand like on a previous version I bought for a Samsung phone. However Spigen don't appear to make one for the Xperia.

Bought this after trying a cheaper case as I thought it wouldn't be very different, I was mistaken. The cheap one was much harder and made it difficult to press the buttons. This case offers great protection and the buttons are responsive, especially the dual step camera button which you couldn't feel on the other case. It has a nice feel to it which offers grip but doesn't feel uncomfortable. The only slight negative I find is with some apps when trying to scroll or swipe in from the edge of the screen the case wraps close to the edge and sticks up making it difficult to swipe in from the edge. Update 22/10/24: After dropping my phone whilst walking down the stairs it bounced 3-4 times on its corners before landing on the wooden floor at the bottom. After all that the only damage was a crack through the screen protector. I must say I am very impressed with the protection given.

I've had many Spigen cases for my work phones , each one has kept my phone safe from drop damage and general wear and tear. This particular case has had some minor improvements. The case edges feel a bit more gripper compared to my older case , the back is smooth as before. I've a caseology case (same company) which is sandstone textured on the back and it's a little more reassuring in the hand , it's also a softer material where this feels a little more well...rugged! Buttons feel great as always and the cut outs are incredibly accurate, no issues with unlocking. The edges are raised enough to lift both camera and front off surfaces. No issues with activating one hand mode with the pull down. Something I struggle with on my find X3 pro while using the scrolling screen grab , The edges are ever so slightly buffed out which I believe is a slight evolution to the corner drop air protection feature. I've the matching Spigen screen protector which is also amazing, zero comparability issues. I keep choosing this brand as I've dropped two phones from head hight onto solid surfaces and only the cases have been damaged. Value for money and build quality are hard to beat at this price point!

It's a black phone case for a black phone. Not much to say about the aesthetics but it's a solid design and protected the phone from a few drops since I bought it, not a scratch on it.

A well made and tough case which provides good protection for this rather expensive phone. It has already been tested in reality, when it fell out of my shirt breast pocket onto the kitchen floor! Passed the 'test' with no damage done. Cut outs are all properly positioned and sized appropriately- perhaps just a bit excessive on the headphone jack cut out. I ordered the Spigen glass screen protector, but returned it as I felt it did not fully cover the screen and the top cut outs seemed a bit over done. I am sure it would have provided really good protection, but the gaps at the edges were just too obvious for my taste and potential dirt and dust traps. I have to say the alignment aid and kit looked first class, but I never got to use it... Overall I am really pleased with the Spigen case for my new Sony Xperia 1 v, as it provides first class protection while looking really good.

Why write a review for a case for a phone noone will buy any more? Dropped it twice, nil damage. Buttons beautifully aligned. A nice textured feel to the case. One HUNDRED precent worth it. Improves and protects the phone. I'm keen because I bang to rights dropped it from 1M+ onto concrete and it was fine. I've also dropped onto slate and carpet. Great case.

Easy slip-on fit to the phone, looks and feels great, no unnecessary bulk, works as it should. It's non-negotiable for me that I have a case ready for a phone—today I have this same case which has saved the same phone countless times.

I bought this, thinking it looked tacky, because I needed it the next day, and I can import a better one later. Turns out it's a very well made case, much better than the rendered photos make it out to be. I won't be upgrading after all.

Excellent 👌. La qualité est vraiment incroyable, même aspect que les Rhinoshield. J'ai longtemps hésité car la photo ne rends pas du tout compte de l'aspect réel de la coque. Elle est bien plus jolie en vrai et on voit de suite que la qualité est top. L'aspect un peu rugueux est très agréable au toucher, ça dissipe bien la chaleur et on peut y coller un anneau mag safe directement. La recharge sans fil se fait aussi sans problème. J'en ai eu marre des coques transparentes anti jaunissement qui jaunissement au bout de 2 mois, j'ai mis le temps à sauter le pas vers une coque noire, et ben je suis vraiment ravi de cet achat. Je recommande vivement.
