## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I use this with my Surface Book?**
A: Unfortunately, Surface Book is not with any Thunderbolt chip. So it cannot be used.

**Q: Can 3.5 inch hdd fit inside**
A: Yes and no. 3.5 can not be mounted, only 2.5 or ssd size can be mounted as they come with a mounting plate but a 3.5 hard drive can fit in the unit if it is not mounted. wish mantiz would put a mounting bracket made for 3.5in HDD.

**Q: Can i use this with my macbook pro closed? i've heard that other egpus used with macs require that the lid/screen be open.**
A: If you upgrade to the latest public beta, the macOS 10.13.4 you can use it as a clamshell, meaning the macbook lid closed and just using the external monitor connected to the eGPU. However, this work better for natively supported GPU cards, meaning AMD RX560-580 and the new VEGA cards. I'm currently using my Macbook Pro 2017 15" with a Mantiz Venus + AMD Radeon Pro VEGA Frontier Edition in clamshell mode.

**Q: Can this work as a "docking station" without gpu? (want to get gpu later)**
A: Yes. No problem, the SSD/USB/LAN will be functional even without the GPU inside.
