Nice replacement battery kit
Apple portables are great until their battery starts to deteriorate and needs to be recharged all the time. I've replaced over a dozen iPhone batteries over the years, and they used to be pretty easy, but they have been getting more difficult with the smaller cables and wires. The iPhones started getting better waterproofing and around iPhone11 / 12, they started getting harder to open due to the seals and the battery adhesive was also becoming more difficult to remove requiring more heat to soften them up, or use of alcohol. iPads while larger, they still have lots of small parts, but it's the size of the battery packs and the adhesive that makes them even more difficult to extract. Pulling hard might end up putting too much stress on the screen or some of the many connectors, possibly breaking some of the wires in the ribbon cables. If you have an iPad with a battery that holds no-charge at all (like mine) it is worth a risk to swap it out and make it usable again. Everything is included here that you need to seal it back up as well. But be sure to back it up and be prepared on a backup plan (e.g. another iPad) in case you fail to get it replaced properly. While it might open up easily and the battery adhesive might not be that sticky, you never know. I've spoken to other technicians who have said that iPad battery replacements could be more difficult than iPhone battery replacements and the newer 14, 15 and 16's are even more challenging to service.

Speciality tools required, not a risk-free repair
A few years ago, I bought a similar battery replacement kit for my old iPhone SE. It worked flawlessly and gave me about another year of life out of that phone. When I saw this product for my old iPad Pro, I figured why not give it a try. I ended up completely destroying my iPad. I will say, I struggled when deciding on how many stars to give this product because my ruining my iPad Pro is more my fault than theirs. The kit provides two different links to two different instructional videos. Both videos show the repair using a heating pad or heating gun to soften the existing adhesive in the iPad. I never needed such a device for my iPhone battery replacement and since this heating pad/gun is a specialty device that I do not own, I plowed ahead without it. I was able to get the iPad open without too many issues, but when it came time to remove the old battery, there was A LOT of adhesive holding that old battery in place. Without that adhesive being softened, the amount of force required to remove the battery not only compromised the integrity of the old battery (likely a health risk), but also damaged critical components of the iPad. I was able to install the new battery and close everything up, but I could only get the iPad to the boot up screen and no further. That iPad is now completely inoperable. I don't doubt that this is a good battery and the kit provides everything you need for the installation (except for the heating pad), but it is a very delicate replacement and some kind of heating device to soften that existing adhesive is absolutely critical. I believe this need for a heating device - and a warning that the iPad could be permanently damaged without it - needs to be part of the product description. Buyers be warned: follow the video directions completely and cut no corners.

Comes with all the necessary tools, but battery is just meh...
First and foremost, know that this is not as simple as swapping out a few AA batteries from the back of a remote. You have to pry your iPad apart carefully and into pieces. If not done correctly and meticulously, this can and will permanently destroy your iPad. Install at your own risk. That said, after installing this battery, I was getting non-authentic accessory errors. I disconnected eventually and reinstalled, and they seemed to go away for now. My concern is that if the errors return, I will have to reopen the whole thing, which is very time consuming. The battery life is definitely better than my aging battery that I was replacing, but not nearly as good as the original when it was new. Overall, it is good for a quick fix, but I wouldn't go as far as saying its a permanent one just yet. Be aware of all you are getting into before purchasing.
