Clarks Unstructured Men's Un.Bend Casual Oxford

I'll keep this simple. This is the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I wear this to work, (I stand up for 8-10 hours a day). I wear this around town. It looks fantastic in either setting. Ok, so what makes it unique? The description says something about the breathability. It absolutely, totally breathes. My feet sweat a lot. EWW! BUT, my feet are so comfortable in these shoes, I seriously never want to take them off my feet. All I want to do is make sure I order a few more pairs before they stop making them. OR if I can no longer find them for like $90.00 instead of $160 at a local shoe store where you get attacked by a sales person. The leather breathes. It is extremely well made. The outsole is incredible. You see, it looks kinda like some casual walking shoe from a distance, BUT it's built kind of like a running shoe. Oh yeah, MOST IMPORTANT POINT: for some reason, Clarks sizes are TOO BIG, JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE ON HERE SAYS. Here's my reference for you: I wear a size 12.5 D in Men's Mizuno running shoes, a 12 D in most other shoes. I THINK my TRUE SIZE is 12.5 D like Mizuno says. But for this shoe, I wear 11.5 D. It fit perfectly. Slightly tight the very first half hour, then the leather stretched like it should that little bit to what your foot is shaped like. The most helpful sizing guide that helped me know this shoe was right for me was the EUROPEAN MEASUREMENT. I'm a size 46 EU. I suggest you find your European Size, go to the Clarks website and look at their sizing guide, and pick the US size that matches the EU size. You should buy this.

The unstructured series are a great shoes as a whole, almost as comfortable as tennis shoes, fit with any definition of business casual, and provide the support that most non-athletic shoes completely neglect. They make both the lace up version here and a slip on depending on your taste. I own both black and brown, both of which have proved scuff resistant and have held their color and shine. The picture on Amazon is actually pretty true to color, the shoes are neither polished to a shine nor look like unfinished leather, which I see as adding to their versatility. Clarks Unstructured have been the best option for wide casual dress shoes I have yet to find. The XW is truly extra wide, up there in interior space with EEE work boots. The shoes also run true to size, which can make ordering easier or more difficult depending on what else you wear. My foot measures a ten but has always required 12 in tennis shoes, but the ten fits just right in Clarks. In conclusion, it's a great shoe for most customers and a top choice for those with wider feet.

Clarks shoes are awsome. I' ve only owned one other pair of Clarks before I purchased this new pair. In the past I would buy a $60.00 pair of famous brand shoes at the local shoe discount places. Wearing these bargain shoes daily and they would only feel comfortable for about two months then the insides would start to weaken and slowly breakdown. After five months my feet would hurt so bad that I couldn't wait to get a new pair of shoes. I bought my first pair of Clarks only because at the time I needed new shoes and I could not find anything available in my size. That's when I went to a Clarks store at a local outlet mall. They had a pair of Oxfords I liked in my size. I tried them on and they felt great. I had to think twice about buying them at around $90.00. I have to tell you though, They were the best damn shoes I ever bought. I wore them daily and they felt just as comfortable at the end of a year. Even then, they were still more comfortable than the bargain shoes were after four months. Clarks shoes are well worth the extra money. They are extremely well made. This style is great looking for casual or semi-dressed up. I still wear the old ones that these replaced as yard work beaters. I'm sold on Clarks brand shoes.

Update 5/2/2016: I've gone through three pairs of these shoes in the past five years, and with each purchase, the price goes up, up, up. They are now more than thirty percent higher than when I first bought them in 2011. It's getting ridiculous. Plus the sole on my latest pair seems to have worn out a lot faster than with previous pairs -- though that may be because I've been doing more walking. But at this price, I've now decided to try another brand. Sorry, Clark's! It's been good knowing you! (And I've changed my rating from 5 to 4 stars due to price alone.) ----- For most of my life my attitude towards shoes has been simple: give me something cheap and functional that won't hurt my feet. I assumed that was the baseline for all shoe manufacturers; so since I've often had trouble finding shoes that were comfortable, I figured it was a problem with my feet. I always thought that shoes over a hundred dollars were mostly a waste of money: sure, maybe they were a little better than my cheapies, but surely most of the cost went into "style" and the name of the brand. I was wrong. Completely wrong. The work shoes I'd been wearing for years were ones that looked a bit similar to these Clarks, but they were a no-name brand from Sears and cost around forty dollars -- less than half what these Clarks cost. I've always had problems with them: it took several weeks to break them in to the point that they were reasonably comfortable, and even then I had to wear a Dr. Scholl's rubber insole to make them comfortable. Within a short time the black polish of these shoes would start to wear away, and I had keep applying shoe polish to keep them looking halfway decent. Then within a few months the soft rubber sole started wearing away unevenly, and I began increasingly to stand with my feet at a funny angle. I was usually too lazy to replace them quickly, and before long the soles would wear through completely and I had to replace them just to keep my feet from being soaked during a light drizzle. I tolerated this for years. I figured all shoes were the same. I just had to buy new ones about every 8 months. But recently those Sears cheapies seemed to be getting worse and worse. The soles on the last pair I bought seemed to wear away within only two or three months. Finally I got disgusted and decided to see if I could find something better. These Clarks Unstructured Unbend Casual Oxfords are the shoes I found by doing some research here on amazon.com. At first I was reluctant to spend this kind of money, but finally I said, what the hell, and placed the order. I've now been wearing these shoes every work day for eleven months. They were comfortable from day one -- the only flaw was that one of the shoes had a slight squeak that lasted about ten days. It went away and hasn't returned. There was no need to add my Dr. Scholl's rubber insole to these Clarks. The black exterior finish now shows a little wear, but it certainly is not wearing away -- not at all. I'm sure if I made a little more of an effort to care for my shoes it would look almost new. Similarly the soles show some minor wear, but they are wearing evenly, and just as important there is no sign at all that they are going to wear through any time soon. Indeed the tiny waffle pattern on the bottom is still partially visible -- so that means the wear is actually quite slow indeed. If back in January I'd purchased another pair of the crap shoes I used to wear instead of these Clarks, they would no doubt have become unwearable sometime last summer -- maybe June or July. I could have held out replacing them until maybe September. If I'd done that, my replacements would by now, December, have just gone over their peak of attractiveness and comfort, and I'd no doubt be spending the next two months trying to decide how much longer I'm willing to tolerate ugly, painful shoes before finally giving in sometime in February and getting new ones. I paid three times more for these Clarks than I normally paid for my other cheap shoes. The Clarks have now lasted eleven months and show no signs at all of becoming unwearable in the near future. But even if they were to last only for the next few months and then simply fall apart, I would have still spent only the same amount on them that I would have had to spend on the three pairs of cheap shoes that would last the same amount of time. And yet the Clarks have already been much, much more comfortable and sturdy than those cheap shoes ever were at their best. And that's not even counting the cost of the rubber insole I bought for the cheap shoes. And on top of that, I fully expect these Clarks to last me at least another year, not merely another few months. That makes these shoes not only the most comfortable, durable, attractive shoes I've ever owned -- it also makes them the best bargain in shoes I've ever seen. I recommend these shoes very highly. Get them; you won't regret it. PS I still haven't been able to figure out what "unstructured unbend" is supposed to mean. Oh well. And if I could give one piece of advice to Clarks, it would be that they let potential customers know that their shoes are not only high quality but in fact a great bargain -- ultimately a lot cheaper than the crappy alternatives that initially cost much less. I wish someone had told me sooner, that's for sure.

I suffer from painfully sore feet and have a difficult time finding a shoe that I can wear to work in all day without hobbling. I had heard that Clarks have a reputation for being comfortable and about a year ago I a pair of black UnStuctured Un.Ravel shoes and have loved them, so I ordered these (Un.Bend model) in brown. The fit is a bit large, which is standard for Clarks, and is what I now expect. The foot bed is soft and accommodating and the toe box is nice and roomy. The leather is nice and soft on the outside, and the footbed is supportive and extremely comfortable. This is a shoe that can go from semi-formal work attire to casual I highly recommend this shoe specifically and the Clarks Unstructured line in general.

These are my second pair of Clarks shoes and I couldn't be happier. These are the BEST shoes I have ever owned. This is not a joke. I have large feet, 12-3E. I also have a hard time just finding a pair of shoes at most stores. I guess most people have tiny feet or at least it looks that way. I am lucky to find just one pair of shoes in my size at the mall. The last pair I bought left a blister on the top of my foot. I returned them and starting shopping on Amazon for shoes. The Clarks are the best. They fit like a glove and feel like it, too. My feet thank me with each step, like walking on pillows. I bought another pair in brown. You will not go wrong with Clarks. Your feet will thank you, too!!

I have been looking for a stylish black oxford to replace my everyday Red Wings that the company no longer makes. I have a wide, flat and, oh yes, wide foot -- 13 4E or 5E depending on the shoe. I have tried countless of shoe companies to find a comfortable everyday shoe for office and casual wear, and they are either ill fitting or unstylish or both. Dunham, Drew, Mt. Emey, Propet and others all failed me (though Propet makes a damn comfortable and sturdy boot). I received this shipment quickly, which was a pleasant surprise. I think it was two or three days. Seriously. It was so fast that I checked my Zappos account to make sure they didn't charge me. The shoes fit this Bigfoot like a glove. Actually, it fit like a shoe that fit perfectly. Rather than shaking my fists in anger at the sky like I usually do when trying on shoes, I nearly cried tears of joy. They are comfortable, sturdy looking, stylish. The only complaint is that they were a tiny bit too long for a 13. But some heel inserts fixed that easily. They still took a couple of days to break in, so they are no Holy Grail Red Wings, but they are also about $75 less than what Red Wing is offering, and the Red Wing guy was going to charge me a $15 "restocking" fee if the ones I wanted to order didn't fit. No thanks. I found a new go-to brand. Thank you, Clarks Unstructured. Thank you.

I generally really like Clarks shoes, and have been wearing the brand for over 40 years now. These are OK. The leather is soft, and like most of their current lines, appear well made. As with other Clarks, order a half to full size down. I ordered my usual 10.5 even though I'm an 11. These are a bit roomier than usual though - a bit fatter, which is lucky as you'll see. They aren't as light as their newer shoes, but I hope that's going to be an advantage in terms of longevity. They look smart enough for the west coast - not sure if the're quite smart enough for a real city though (I live in a college town). The one flaw is the sole. They have a padded, orthotic-feeling insole with some raised stitching and a button-like logo. That irritated my feet no end. I was definitely going to send them back as it made it feel like there was gravel in the shoe! Luckily, they were a bit large, so I went onto ebay and bought some thin leather insoles (made by Tacco), and that seems to have sorted that out. That said, I don't think I would ever have paid full price for these. They just don't feel like $150 shoes. So for overpricing one star off, and for the irritating insole, another one.

Great shoe, better price than Canadian retail. I've been wearing Clarks Unstructured shoes in a 10.5W for a few years now. I finally found a shoe brand/size that feels great, fits my wide feet like a glove, and I can buy it sight unseen and without trading it on and know it will fit. Wide sizes are hard to come by in retail stores, and before trying a pair of these in a 10.5W I was buying size 11-11.5 just to get enough room in the shoe. Finally something that fits! Besides the fit, these are great shoes. Comfortable, light and good quality. They last well, providing daily wear for a year or more before looking or feeling worn out. I recommend checking out any style of shoe from the Clarks Unstructured line. I've had three different styles over the years and have been pleased with all of them.

I was skeptic about buying these Shoes only because the price was so good. I usually pay 5x that for Clarks. I highly recommend these. All time best buy Ive had on Amazon to date
