I was asked by Vantrue to review this unit and agreed based on my experience with their other product. This dashcam was not difficult to install. It came with clear cling type adhesives to put on the windows first so that the more permanent adhesive on the mounts would not damage the glass or be difficult to remove later. I liked that the 12V power adapter had built-in USB ports so that if you had existing USB chargers in your 12V cigarette lighter socket, you could replace them with this power adapter and still be able to charge your USB devices. I was concerned that it would be difficult to route the rear camera wire to my back window. I have a 2018 F150 pickup truck, and it ended up being pretty easy. There was a console mounted to my windshield that I could easily pop the cover from and route the wire through. Then I ran it along the ceiling trim over to the door frame. I had to only remove one trim panel piece with a couple of screws and the rest of the routing was as simple as tucking the wire behind the interior trim. I was pleasantly surprised. The picture quality is determined by the resolution selected. You can have a full-resolution front camera only or choose lower resolutions for the rear and front cameras or the rear, interior, and front cameras. This was a little disappointing because I expected all cameras to be at full resolution at the same time when recording. The one other complaint is that it did not come with a memory card. I tried to use a memory card from an existing dashcam but kept getting an error that it was too slow. So, you will need a sufficiently fast memory card for this camera. Thankfully, they are not expensive for smaller cards. I like that whenever there is a sudden movement on the vehicle, it will trigger to keep the recording. I think the intention is to keep recordings if you are in an accident or if someone hits the vehicle. It is a bit sensitive and triggers whenever I hit a pothole or speed bump but I imagine that can be adjusted in the settings if I wanted to. The app is pretty good. It allows you to connect via WiFi to the camera to view the recordings and if you want, to download them to the phone. I use the same app for the motorcycle dash cam, and it's pretty good. I had previously used a less expensive dashcam from Costco that was OK, but this one is much nicer and has nicer features as well as higher resolution. Great product ### ⭐ Terrible camera! *by G***T on August 10, 2026* N4 Pro Camera Freezing, Rear Camera Disconnecting, and Severe Display Problems I am having serious ongoing problems with my N4 Pro, and I need help determining what is wrong with the unit. For approximately the past two weeks, the camera display has repeatedly been locking up or freezing completely. The image will remain frozen with no movement, whether I am driving or stopped. I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps: * Reformatted the Vantrue-branded memory card. * Pressed the buttons under the camera to switch between the different camera views. These buttons do not always respond, and when they do, it can take 20–30 seconds for the display to change. * Pressed the reset button on the unit. * Checked all cables and connections. * Confirmed that there is no problem with the power supply. * Downloaded and installed the latest available firmware/software. I am also repeatedly receiving messages stating that the number of connected cameras has changed. When this happens, the rear camera disappears from the main unit's display. The indicator light on the rear camera is still illuminated, but the main unit reports that only the front and cabin cameras are operating. The problem also occurs when I connect my phone through the Vantrue app. The phone successfully connects to the camera, but instead of showing the live camera image, I frequently see a small triangle where the live view should be. If the camera image does appear, it is often frozen with no movement. Sometimes the camera appears to still be recording even though the display is frozen, but lately both the camera operation and displayed image appear to be freezing more frequently. At this point, I have reset the unit, reformatted the memory card, checked every connection, verified the power supply, and installed the latest firmware. The problem continues. **What is causing this?
