Dorman 926-408 Torque Converter Lock-Up Solenoid Compatible with Select Subaru Models (OE FIX)

I was having issues with lights on my dash and passing emissions test and after scanning I needed only new solenoid for my 2014 Crosstrek. It was a process to take the valve body apart and turned out I needed 2 and had to fix a ground but after installing and putting back together it worked like a charm and saved me a ton of money.

These solenoids were an absolute lifesaver for my 2015 Subaru Outback. I had the dreaded “Christmas tree” dashboard situation with nearly every warning light coming on along with several transmission-related diagnostic codes. Most shops would have wanted to replace the entire valve body, and the repair bill probably would have been more than the value of the car itself. Thankfully, these allowed me to replace just the failed lock-up solenoid instead of the whole assembly. After installation and completing the relearn/learning process, the transmission went back to shifting and running normally again. This repair literally saved me thousands of dollars and kept my 220,000-mile Outback on the road. If you’re dealing with similar Subaru CVT issues, this is definitely worth looking into before replacing the entire valve body.

Worked great. Easy install. 10mm socket and clean work surface. Electrical tester to test ohms to identify which ones need to be replaced. Too easy.

Worked for about 1800 miles before the Check Engine and AT High Temp lights came on. P0700 and P2726 codes were stored. Experienced rough idle and lurching from stops. Gas mileage cratered. Replaced this solenoid with one from Rostra. Part # 823425. Do yourself a favor and skip parts from Dorman.

Waited to write a review until I had put some miles on it. Going on 45,000 miles with no problems. Install was pretty simple on a 2016 Crosstrek. There is an electrical ground connection that you will almost certainly break taking the old solenoid off. Simple fix. Strip a little wire off the harness and attach a ring connector. Much better repair than replacing the whole valve body.

Even though the Amazon Garage says it doesn't fit my Forester XT i had multiple conformations that it did fit my CVT. Install, of course, is complicated since Subaru doesn't want DIY taking valve body's out. It's important to note that if attempting this DIY use only Subaru or Indemitsu CVT Fluid (Indemitsu makes the Subaru brand) and not any other brand. There are some compatibility issues with other brands. Once installed this solenoid behaved itself right away and allowed codes to be cleared without too much fanfare. So far so good.

This solenoid is 12ohm. Check what your specs are before purchase. In 2013 subaru uses a 2 - 4.5 ohm range. 2014 and later its 11.5-14 ohm range. It makes a difference.

Holy smoke my guys!! This is great. What a money saver. It took me 2.5 hours to do this in my driveway with the help of a YouTube video. They wanted thousands to replace my torque converter but I was able to replace this and saved all that glorious cash!!!! Way to go Doorman!!! New customer for everything I need now

スバルCVTのロックアップソレノイド修理に使えます。 (TR580、TR690ミッション共通) C型のゴムが付属しないので、元々ついているものを再使用しました。 (TR580はゴムが元々ない？) 中華ソレノイドが1.5万キロしか持たなかったので、こちらに変えてみました。 今のところ問題なく動いていますが、今後問題があれば追記します。
