Handy bike maintenance tool
I'm not an expert, and I can't vouch for the detailed accuracy of these callipers, but they are a very handy bit of kit if you do all your own bike maintenance. I use them to assess brake pad and rotor wear, tyre tread depth, etc. I take the view that if I'm using the same callipers all the time, even if they are a little out I can still judge the wear of important components.

Works well and easy to use
Very happy. Cost-effective 6inch digital caliper that handles well. Easy to handle and holds zero repeatably. Easy to read in mm (2 dp), inches (3 dp with the half-thou) and fractions (of 128th of an inch). Bought to help quick reads in thous (of an inch) for checking string gauges on guitar and ukulele repairs (rather than converting a manual metric caliper). ASME (US) calibration included. Spare Batt (CR2032), batt cover plate screws and small crosshead screwdriver included. Nice case for the inspection gear shelf too.

Rugged
According to the calibration certificate its tolerance is +-0.001" (+-0.0254 mm) for outside, inside and depth measurements. Outside test measurements: 0, 1, 3, 4, 6 inch. Inside: 0.2, 1 inch. Depth: 0 inch. Comes with a spare battery and a nice foam case. Also, it's rated IP54. Seems overkill for a caliper but if you need to do measurements outdoors in the rain... Why not.

22 months with no issues, customer service surprising helpful considering the price.
I have had the pleasure of owning these calipers and using them for handloading rifle ammunition for 22 months now, they've always been repeatable and reliable, and always passed any calibration checks ive put them through (to an acceptable level for a 6inch Vernier). the quality leaves very little to be desired for the price and when i finally did run into issues with erratic reading and trouble zeroing, one phone call to California and they walked me through the steps to troubleshoot. whether they quit on me or not, for $50ish you're never going to find a nicer feeling and smoother operating set of calipers. will certainly buy again if these do end up failing me. 90% the feel and performance of the reputable mitu's well under 50% of the price. 100% my go-to for home and hobby use.

¡Lo has encontrado!

Useful and feels trustworthy for an occasional user
I only use it once in a while, so want it to remain in good condition and not lose fidelity when stored - the better quality case helps with that too. So far it's done that well - I'm by far no expert but feeling it has some weight to it and the moving parts don't wobble or jerk but move smoothly, that unlike the [identical looking] $5 knockoffs can sense it really is better made and of good quality steel and other parts. Note for others: if like me it is not used for longer periods do close the jaws AND lock (firm but not over-tight) the slider when stored.

Digital Calipers That Do What You Want
I can find no flaws with these calipers. While I don't have any expensive equipment to compare these against, they always return accurately, slide smoothly, and are generally not a pain in the butt to use. They can be carried in a pocket, so long as you don't find the bulky top section sticking out to be a bother, and there is a handy-dandy conversion table on the back of the reader, which you probably won't need since you can change from millimeters, to decimal inches, to fractional inches with the push of a button. So its probably more useful for rounding as the readout for the fractional inch measures up to 64ths which is probably an unwieldy and unfamiliar for most people to work with. If there were one additional button that allowed you to change from what degree of rounding you wanted these would be golden! Then using them would require absolutely no brain-work at all and they would be entirely worthy of their EZ Cal designation, as opposed to them being simply an accurate, affordable and unfussy tool. But I suppose it's EZ Cal and not Brain-Dead Cal. That would probably be more complicated and thus more costly to make, not to mention that the additional button would make it bulkier and maybe defeat the purpose of this design. Coming back from discursiveness, the actual scale is painted on a metal inlay away a certain distance away from the edge which helps protect it from rubbing off, but of course it's still not laser engraved into the bar. But then I ask for too much. I think I've rambled well enough, needing to mention only that it comes in a nice, protective case with instructions and that it doesn't come with batteries, which are of the small, round 3v variety. Having paid about 30 USD for them, and having them not be effectively useless like another pair I bought at Home Depot, I am entirely pleased with them and will be purchasing more iGagaging products in the future for their excellent quality over price.
