Had oil leak, and this part fixed the problem. Even though your leak may look like it’s coming from somewhere else, before digging In to deep, replace with this part. It’s a very common place to leak as it is plastic prone to crack and O-Ring that flattens out. Do not over tighten as it will crack the plastic cover. Need to remove kickstand and cover plate behind kickstand to access this part.

Perfect fit and fix.
Definitely fixed the issue. The original was cracked in 3 spots. This one for perfect and stopped the leak.

Part works
Part fits as expected and has stopped the constant oil leak from my bike. Oil the O ring before install and tighten the screws each a little at a time to evenly tighten it down and you shouldn't have any problems. Would recommend using a jack because the kickstand is in the way and makes the job alot more tedious on vstars

Improper fitment, leaks oil
After using this to replace my broken neutral switch, it continued to leak oil until I replaced it with a different manufacturer. When I took it off, the O-ring appeared thinner than the replacement. No oil leak since being replaced.

Fit perfect, leak free.
Some review say this is the wrong size, does not fit. Either the person ordered the wrong part or is not installing correctly. The switch fit perfect, and tight, it is leak free. Apply some grease to o ring to help ease it into the engine. Dont overtighten the screws.

This fit my 07 Yamaha vstar 650, had to wiggle it around at first and I thought it wasn’t gonna work but it did!

Temporary at best
The plastic housing is fine, roughly the same quality of the original. The o-ring supplied is not, however, and is almost guarenteed to leak again. This might fix your neutral safety switch leak, if your bike is leaking due to the plastic housing being broken at one of the screws, which is common as the plastic heat cycles. The supplied o-ring is just a few thousandths too small though, and my bike was dripping oil again by the end of the week. I bought part # 93210-29147-00 through Yamaha (available on Amazon still, $6.99 as of April 2025) and replaced the o-ring, and the bike has been leak free since.
