The extech meter measures electromagnetic radiation = microwave radiation. The stationary bar magnetic field will decrease in value as a meter is moved farther away from either pole. The magnetic field emanates from the north pole and terminates on the south pole as a continuous contour line. Like a topological map the magnetic field contour lines are concentric to the bar magnet and decrease in magnitude with distance perpendicular to these contour lines and away from the bar magnet.
