Let's get the unpleasant stuff out of the way: it's pricey. Then again, it's one of those rare domestic products that's truly excellent, so it's worth every penny. My previous one had over 15 years on it, and it could have kept going for another 15 years, but long-term reckless use -- and you can beat on these things like crazy -- left it oil-stained and I think it has earned a retirement with honors. I'm tempted to give it a viking funeral. Looking forward to many more great meals prepped with the new one.
