Japanese sizes - B5 size is roughly 30 percent smaller than standard US copy paper (A4)
I love this, and all of Kokuyo's products that I've tried especially the highlighters it annoys me to see some bad reviews on a lot of their a5 and b5 products because people buying binders and paper don't use their brain and actually read sizes and descriptions! which is a shame. a bad review because someone wasn't a careful customer and didn't READ or look at the dimensions shouldn't be allowed. I bought this binder and extra b5 6 mm paper. the binder is great, it's the perfect compromise between big enough to take notes for school and small enough to travel with easily. my only gripe is the cover. in the photos in looks like the pretty triangle designs are the actual cover. that's not the case. the front binder housing is like a frosted clear plastic with a corner that is purple, and the word campus printed in purple on the opposite corner. the colorful decorative geometric design (which is what caught my eye in the first place) comes from a printed piece of paper showing through the clear plastic. it's okay for me though as I can now make any decoration I want and have it show through the cover. I don't think it's intentional but despite carefully researching my purchases I didn't realize this until I had the binder in my hands). it opens easily and you can fold the cover back on itself to save room on your desk. my only gripe really is once you do this, when you close it again the cover doesnt want to lay flat again it stays a tiny bit raised. all of this though, anything negative I mentioned is insignificant compared to how much I like this binder. It's nicely made and the perfect size. I'm not sure how the rings will hold up and if there are durable or not But they are very easy to open, you just pitch them and open with one hand, two fingers is all you need so if someone doesn't have hand or arm strength or was an amputee this would be a great binder for them. because of the arrangement of the two rings they don't get in the way of your hand when you write. You can fit a lot more paper than they say it fits in their description but you don't want to pack it too much or it won't turn easily. paper isn't too thin or too thick so it fits a decent amount. The paper itself is beautiful and silky smooth and erase is like a dream. very little ghosting even with sharpies, I'm happy writing on the fronts and backs of the paper. I've never felt paper like this in my life, and honest doesn't feel like paper because I'm used to rough American loose leaf. This is like slick and almost feels like it should be shiny. gel pens glide over it like ice skates, I particularly love using frixion's fine tip markers on this paper, it feels so smooth and silky writing on it. The color is a pretty cream off white. over all I love it and already have a bunch more Kokuyo products in my cart, about to buy note binders and notebooks in this size a4 and a5! buy this and paper and fall in love with Japanese stationary, you'll never want to write on regular old American paper again!

PERFECT Size! My Diary!
I am left handed and have a hard time with notebooks. My hand will often lay across the spiral binding and start to hurt after a bit. I have the full size of these notebooks I use at work and love it. This size is perfect to keep in my purse as a diary. The paper is so smooth, and even works well with fountain pen ink. Shimmers and sheens are very visible, but it's not quite Tomoe River. Refills are an unbeatable price, and I love how thin the actual binder is. I can fold the cover over if needed. Individual papers can be removed and sorted into other folders for record keeping. One of my favorite writing setups at a really fantastic price.

Love this little notebook
I am so thrilled with this little notebook. I was looking for something to fit my A5 sized monthly planner pages in that didn’t include a huge metal binder and would fit neatly into my purse. The little rings are delicate, and I had to hand punch the holes in the correct spot to get my planner pages in there, but I am so happy with the finished product!

Good quality plastic binder. Just wish it was a little less flexible
I got this plastic ring binder primarily so I could move pages around when I wanted to. This works really well for that as the plastic rings open and close nicely. I appreciate the cover design as well, with it's minimal/ semi-transparent look and plastic material (for easy cleaning if needed). My main complaint about the binder material, however is that it's a little too flexible to use while writing on a soft surface (like my legs, a pillow, etc), and the cover doesn't fold back without it risking damage to the edge crease.

Typical Kokuyo greatness
Great system. Holds up well. I've used it every day multiple times a day since I got it and I've had no issue what so ever.

Picky daughter absolutely loves it
My daughter absolutely LOVES this product. She’s a college student and loves the paper and the ability to use as a binder but less bulky and very stylish. Sturdy and easy to use.

Came scratched/damaged
I love kokuyo! These are super cute and super cool binder-notebooks however, they came slightly scratched and damaged, they didn’t even come in a protective film and were just loose inside the amazon packaging. :/ there’s a slight bend in the binding of one, and the covers are both scratched. They are still usable however it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I know this is likely not the company fault but whoever shipped and packed it.

Great notebook for class notes. Just wish more colors were in stock, every time I check it’s sold out!

The binder for when you need to get work done.
I've used a lot of binders over the years and this is by far my favorite. It really can't be emphasized enough how great the notebook-style fold over is when you have limited desk space. I know eventually the fold crease in the plastic cover is going to crack and break, that's simply the nature of these things, but it seems sturdy so far under heavy use. The fine print says the binder fits 40 pieces of paper, but I've fit more than that comfortably though it becomes a bit fiddly when you want to take a sheet out, especially with the four ring design. As an aside and possibly overkill, the binder fits perfectly in a Hobonichi cousin cover if you're fine with losing the ability to fold it.

Schöner praktischer Hefter, leicht raue Kanten & gewelltes Papier
