How long does this product last?

7 years on mine and it's been very valuable. In my case, an inground 17x35, there was no accounting for prevailing winds on our site and the built-in skimmer was placed at the upwind end, while the prevailing winds blow all the debris to the opposite end rendering the skimmer almost useless. Fortunately there's a return at the downwind end and that's where this Pool Skim goes, and works very well. Only wish it came with a bigger bag (our pool has Silver Maples at each end).

What if my return isn't threaded? Is there some kind of adapter I can use?

I have a noseum issue ans use a silt skimmer; noseums pass through regular mesh. Will this product trap and contain noseums?

Customers tips on when you are having issues with tiny particles in your pool that may go though the mesh bag is to use an inexpensive nylon knee high stocking with the bag.

Will it break off if there are waves from people jumping in the pool?

Nope....we always have ours in the pool. The only thing that might happen is the inner ring (the part that slides up and down to adjust to water depth) may come out but that takes 2 seconds to put back in no tools to anything.
