They wanted me to send back a table, 4 chairs, and a bench so that I could have to put together a whole new table, chairs, and bench - because I wanted to buy one chair. Stupidest answer ever. **Q: Does the bench open?** A: No it doesn’t, but be aware, if you purchase this, it will more than likely be damaged upon delivery! And all they offered me was a partial refund. This dinning set was definitely what I was looking for. The sturdiness, size met all expectations and the instructions were pretty simple to follow. However, I’m rating this a 4 because, after assembling it for about 2 or 3 hours, my husband noticed that one of the chairs were wobbly. He disassembled and reassembled again, with hope that it was just not tight enough or not screwed in all the way, but that wasn’t the case. Almost like one of the legs have a defect and or something, which is a bummer. It’s the chair that’s closest to the wall. I’ll just have it there meanwhile. Other than that, I have no other complaints about this beautiful set. I highly recommend this dinning set, especially if shopping on a budget.
