Great shredder and faultless for three years.
I have this shredder for 3 years and thought I would leave a long term review as it's been faultlessUnlike other shredders I have had, which shred in small strips, this one cuts it into tiny little pieces. When emptying I also put the shredding's in a bag and add water which makes sure it all sticks together in a big lump of paper mâché :)Each time the bin is empty I spread shredder specific oil between two sheets of paper and put that through to keep the blades in good condition.Never had any issues, castors are great as you can wheel it out when needed, small window on bin to see when it is full, although there is the full light anyway and it is reasonably quiet. It has never jammed on me and great at shredding credit cardsWould highly recommend.

Pretty good for home use
It shreds paper up to A4 into very small pieces indeed - just a few mm square. And they're pretty scrumpled so reading shredded documents isn't going to be easy. It's small, it's neat, it's quiet - but it's happiest shredding one or two pieces at a time. It slows down noticeably with 3 pieces, and 4 pieces of say 100gsm paper (normal laser paper is 80gsm) starts to sound as though I should worry about the motor overheating, but it hasn't yet :-) .Build quality is pretty good as these things go and it arrived very quickly, beautifully boxed and protected.

Disappointed
I bought this item just over a month ago and it has stopped working properly. We went for a more expensive shredder, hoping it would provide better value than our previous shredder which cost a fraction of the price of this one. However, although initially it shredded well, it never coped with more than two pieces of paper together and now it is struggling to cope with one single sheet, running really slowly. we have checked everything we can but can find no obstruction, it just doesn't work properly. After one month!

Good Secure shedding and reliable
If you do not read any further I would recommend this machine and is good value. In the past I've used cheap machines that worked well for what they were most were cross cut and over heated quickly. My old one died on me, so needed a new oneDone a little research and came across Q-Connect.But I need a more secure shred this time, which did not break the bank, and could cope with every day use and the Q-Connect Q8micro Micro Cut fitted this requirement in it's description. Found Amazon and Tesco as the cheapest for this model.Chose Amazon because of their customer service if any problems and it's free delivery. It shreds to Security level 4, according to one source "safeguarding of personal livelihood or a company's existence.".I would recommend this machine for that alone because for the price I found it hard to match for this level of security. On Opening:At first opening I thought it was a bit flimsy. But once it's all put together it's sturdy. The waste draw is good and large.Use:I've used this for about a month using it everyday to shred about 20 A4 paper on average. It copes very well with this and is no problem for it.Noise level is good quite low.The shredded paper is very small and so the bin holds quite a lot of pages, but I found it could not hold the claim of 300 pages. It has a credit card slot used this once and the card disappeared easily.I found a machine that does what it says in the sales blurb and is well under £100.00.Would recommend for a home who want's a secure shredder or for a small office.Order oil with it don't bother with the paper variety lubricant they are far too expensive.

lovely and quiet in comparison to some so heavenly from that perspective however it is rather top heavy and let down by the light weight drawer and mechanism. The drawer is not very robust in comparison to the rest of the machinery and it doesn't always slot back in easily frequently taking several efforts to get it to engage properly. It sometimes states its full when its not so sensor a bit unpredictable. only had it a short while but these are issues we have experienced so far.............doesn't make me want to immediately buy another one.............

Holding my breath
So far so good. Do not want to speak too soon as others have bitten the dust after a few weeks only time will tell. Sturdy, appears to be well made, it is expensive but at the moment it seems worth it.

Not heard of this brand before but too a punt...It's a compact shredder. Micro cut, the resultant bits are way too tiny so very secure. It last about 5-6 minutes continuous shredding. In 2 days I shredded 2 standard carrier bags of documents. After 5 min it overheats and you have to let it rest for an hour.It can handle about 8 sheets but it struggles. Better to put in about 4..Size wise it's compact, has 4 coasters. Build seems ok made in China, and not the best quality on off switch,However if it last a year def 5 star... Obviously not had it long so will review long term later. So far so good, highly recommendedSUMMARYSize smallNoisy, not quietMicro cut paper is small, so its secureBin easy to empty1 carrier bag fills the binEasy to empty not messyOn off reverse switch not the highest quality

The trrolly wheels means u can easily pull it out from under the desk
The trrolly wheels means u can easily pull it out from under the desk, and push back when u are not using it, much better than leaning under the desk and getting back ache. The removable bin means u can pull it out and empty it right inside a recycle bag, our last one left a huge mess all over the floor every time u emptied it. I did about 10 bin bags worth of shredding in the 1st couple of days I got it, handles big jobs well, only auto-stopping for a minute every once in a while to cool down. Micro shreds, very satisfying, also shreds cards well. Great machine, great value.
