Limited vinyl LP repressing. Nightflight to Venus is the third studio album by Euro-Caribbean group Boney M., and was released in July 1978. The album became a major success in continental Europe, Scandinavia, and Canada, topping most of the album charts during the second half of 1978 and also became their first UK #1 album. Nightflight to Venus includes their worldwide hits "Rivers of Babylon" and "Brown Girl in the Ring", a double A-sided single that topped the UK singles chart and has sold over two million copies there. The follow-up was another Boney M. classic, "Rasputin", in most countries also a double A-side coupled with "Painter Man", a cover of a 1966 hit by the band The Creation. "Rivers of Babylon", which peaked at #30 on The Billboard Hot 100, became their biggest US hit.

Fantastic Remastered Edition
Oh man, I waited SO long for this CD to get here and the CD is a clean remastered edition. Hadn't heard of BoneyM before but picked up some of the songs from a British radio DJ~The only issue I have isn't with the music but the CD came in one of those puffy envelopes and the plastic case is cracked. I suppose I can get another plastic case, just happy the CD was not smushed too.

Great Audio Quality!!! Beautiful CD!!!
When buying older music that I am already familiar with the thing that I am looking for most is has the audio quality improved on the remastered or re issued versions of my old favorites. The vocals are very clear and distinct on this album they are just right not too loud and not too quiet. In my opinion I would have liked the vocals to be just a bit louder and more pronounced. Bass is pretty good for the age of the music I do find myself turning the bass up slightly here and there and fiddling with it. The audio quality of this CD is pretty good for music from the 70's and it does not disappoint. The audio is not going to blow you away but it is better than most of their stuff I have heard in the past. The music here is really beautiful and if you are looking at this disk and reading this review and are familiar with Boney M then you already know this. I have bought another 3 Cd's from Boney M all remastered and reissued and all of them sound identical musically and sound as if they are all on the same disk if they are played in succession. I went with 4 different Cd's from Boney M and not with one of the greatest hit's albums because I didn't want to be missing any of my favorites from them. I have the same review on the other disks I bought from them since all the disks sound Identical. One thing that I was really pleased with is that the disks don't have loud hiss in the back ground like many of the older Cd's I have recently bought. I give the audio quality of this CD 4 stars and the CD it self 5 stars.

Great Flight
BoneyM’s third studio album, “Night Flight To Venus”, released in 1978, further cemented the group’s status as the leading hit makers of the Euro Disco genre. Although for the most part “Night Flight To Venus” is aimed towards the dance floor, the sound is some what grittier and the album as a whole is more balanced and ultimately more interesting. “Rasputin” is a Euro Disco classic as it pulsates and makes you move all the while telling a story. “Rivers Of Babylon” is another masterpiece which topped the charts in most European countries and became BoneyM’s sole entry into American Top 40. The infectious reggae flavored “Brown Girl In The Ring”, another European chart topper, also got some radio and club play in the States. “Painter Man” and “He Was A Steppenwolf” are both surprisingly rocky and fun numbers, showing the group’s willingness to be versatile. “King Of The Road” and “Voodoonight” are both sing along dance tracks. “Never Change Lovers In The Middle Of The Night” and “Heart Of Gold” are midtempo numbers that slow down the pace some what and even this style of music suits BoneyM well since Liz Mitchell is a great singer and Frank Farian is a production genius who knows how to get the most out of BoneyM.There are also two very important Bonus tracks here. “Mary’s Boy Child/Oh my Lord”, which was a non-album single release and became an international smash and the previously unreleased track called “Dancing In The Streets”.The sound on this EU made re-master is amazing, and the original album cover art front and back is preserved. A must have for Disco collectors.

Excellent original Album
The original format of long version Night Flight to Venus song leading into Rasputin is the reason for my purchase and it is fabulous. Love the sound quality. Less famous Steppenwolf and King of the Road makes it a total Joy. There are 2 bonus songs and Mary's Boy Child happens to be one of my favorite BoneyM songs. Highly Recommend. Thanks
