Unitek USB A/C IDE/SATA Adapter, Dual-Drive for 2.5/3.5" HDD/SSD, 5Gbps

Did the job I needed, no issues. Fittings are all very close and snug, a micron here or there would make a difference. But to clean and old SSD it worked well. Recommend.

Over the years, I've had several laptops and desktops. Eventually they wear out. Or I've had motherboards get fried or external drive housings died. I got this and within a week, I successfully recovered data from several different types of drives - all three connections worked perfectly. The only manual thing I did was use Windows 10 disk management to assign a drive letter so I could then see the data on the drive. I recovered the data I was interested in. There are two drives, where I think an external USB connection hosed two drives and while it sees the drives, I can't get Windows 10 to recognize it. Where was this technology 5-7 years ago - I spent money on external drive cases. But then to copy the data, today's 4-8-10 TB external drives allow me to copy to those devices for safekeeping. I'm satisfied.

This is a great device for opening up old hard drives and finding old files you may have thought were lost. Easy to use, plug the power supply to the Unitek device, connect the 4 prong ata power ribbon from the device to the 4 prongs on the hard drive and plug the 40 pin connector to the 40 pins at the butt of the hard drive, then flip the switch on the Unitek device and the drive get seen by the computer. It assigns an available drive letter and pops up on windows explorer. Very much worth the $36.

This thong is a life saver. My seagate external 4tb failed and I could not get in. This got me in. It seems that case or it's power was the issue and this got me up and running. It was very easy to use and required no setup.

First off the Pro outweighs the Con’s! CON: 1. the Amazon page for this product has a link to an Owners Manual, however the link is not even for this product. 2. A business card was included with the product which had a QR code on it to scan to take you to the manual page. However it takes you to the manufacturer’s products page for their manuals so you have to pick the correct product (which isn’t shown), or you have to search by the model # which they note is on the outside of the box. However what should be the model # as found on the item (AR-xxxx) and is found on the box is not any of their product model #’s! Finally I found the product # (in small print) under the QR code. So great I’m good to go, but no Y-3322D is not a valid model #! Now if you want the manual for Y-3322, or for Y-3322 “A” or “C” great you are in luck; if you want the manual for Y-3322D to bad you’re out of luck. Pro: 1. Taking a leap of faith that I was connecting the 4 prong power supply from the product to my old hard drive correctly and didn’t have it reversed, then EUREKA the old hard drive came to life and neither it nor the product blew up or started smoking. 2. Great product and it does exactly what I bought it for. For those of us literate enough to use a computer or laptop, but illiterate and not tech savvy to computer hard drives it’d be beneficial to actually have a printed (and detailed) manual either with this product or one that is correctly linked to the product item page on Amazon, or at the very least for the manufacturer to provide an online manual for this product. If you’re comfortable pulling out a computer hard drive to retrieve old files and pictures instead of paying someone else to do it for you, then the Pro’s heavily outweigh the Con’s and I recommend this SATA IDE Adapter.

I have been using computers since 1986, and over time, I have upgraded to newer, faster computers with SSD drives. I have accumulated about fifteen SATA and IDE drives of various capacities, which I ended up saving over time. I finally decided to purchase an adapter to plug them in and retrieve some of the photos and documents, transferring them to my new machine. Here is where it gets interesting. I had the adapter, two keyboards, and a mouse, all plugged into an ANKER 4-port USB A-type manifold, plugged into the back of my computer. The unfortunate part was not being able to see the external SATA and IDE drives plugged into the Unitek adapter in my file manager. So I contacted customer support via email, and they were very responsive with making suggestions to resolve the problem. Seems by plugging all those devices into the ANKER USB 4-port manifold, sharing power was not enough to power the Unitek adapter, so I could see the SATA and IDE drives. After a couple of back-and-forth emails with customer support, the problem was solved by plugging the adapter into a dedicated USB port on the back of my computer. This simple change allowed me to see the external SATA and IDE drives in the file manager. An important part of buying hardware and software is customer support and their responsiveness in supporting their product. Thank you, Unitek.

Works a treat, great for accessing data on older drives.

3口のソケットがあるけれど、3種類の異なる規格なので、たとえば3.5インチから3.5インチへのコピーというような、同じ規格同士のコピーはできない。 基本的には裸のHDDヘバックアップを取ってどこかに保管しておくというような運用で使うツールだと思う。 あるいは、裸のHDDを廃棄するとき中身を確認したり消去したいときとか。1つ持っておけば何かと使いそう。 相性はあるかもしれないが、自分が使った SEAGATE 2.5インチ HDD では安定して認識できた。

What can I say? This product does what it's supposed to do, and it probably doesn't get any better than this. I've tried a couple of others on Amazon, but this is the one that gets five stars from me. If you have hard drives that you need to access, then this is the product you need. Just buy it; you'll be happy with it, I promise.

This device worked straight out of the box. I connected three old HDDs that I'd saved with the vague hope that one day I'd be able to access the photos on them. Uncovered photos of my wife and kids from my first digital camera (a Kodak 2M camera that took a great shot...) and even some of the earlier photos that I'd captured using my then current mobile phone. Some of the phone photos are tiny, as you'd expect, but the others are now stored safely in all their glory. I happily recommend this product - great value, no effort, no complicated instructions, just plug it all in and enjoy searching through old photos and files.

Had both old IDE and SATA drives, managed to copy them on new system and other new drives to help to protect and preserve family memories. Very easy to do especially the SATA drives.
