CRAFTSMAN Tape Measure, Compact Easy Grip, 25 FT (CMHT37443S)

Very good, easy grip definitely works well with the rubberized surface, and otherwise it's just a solid tape measure. Locks well, pulls out well without too much effort and retracts beautifully as well. However, if you are going to rubberized so much of the surface, why not go that one extra step and add a a rubber piece to the end of the belt clip? There's just a sharp metal edge poking out of the otherwise soft exterior of the tape measure, so I always had to be extra careful not to lay the side with the belt clip down in case I damage any surfaces. No stars off since you can easily fix this with some tape or by removing it completely, but it's just a strange exclusion otherwise.

This is a really good tape. I like it because it extends out far. It doesn’t crack like most tapes when you’re trying to extend it. I would get it again.

I will try to be as honest as possible because I depend on other people's reviews and feel I want to help the best I can: This Tape Measure is Heavy Duty feeling and operates just as I had hoped and expected. Feels like it should work and last as long as any I've owned before. I like the bulkiness feel it had in my hand due to the thick rubber coating on it. The tape glides in and out as good as a more expensive tape measure. The locking mechanism works good and holds the tape in place at any place you wish. I see where some complain that it broke or hurt them when they released the tape to retract back into itself. I was always trained to never let a tape measure retract full speed and just slam to the end. I've seen others do this and the end snaps right off the tape, no matter what brand it is. When allowing the tape to retract after using it, keep a finger applying pressure or friction against it with the same hand that is holding the tape measure. I put one finger underneath the tape as it flies back into the case. Just before it is completely retracted I apply slightly more pressure to stop it and then allow it to easily snap back totally closed. That is how I was taught many years ago, but everyone is welcome to use their own preferred way. The ONLY tiny thing I found slightly different that is taking me a minute to adjust to compared to the many tapes I've used in the past, is the end of the tape that I normally grabbed to pull the tape out feels smaller than others. Not an issue, just I need to adjust and get used to it. The rubber encased case that I love so much is so fat that when I go to grab that end clip to pull the tape, it does not stick down enough for me to quickly grab it. I must purposely catch that tape end with my finger and then pull it out. NOT A BIG DEAL. I highly recommend this product. Good Luck.
