Outdoor Junction Box, IP66 Waterproof Electrical Project ABS Plastic Boxes

I love this thing for protecting my plug ins to my outdoor pool lights. It is a great size and holds several plus in the extension cords. Sorry and I think it will hold up to the hot Texas sun.

I put out door for my extension to make long. I got it last year it’s working perfectly. In snow in rain it worked great.

Great product, easy to use and reasonably price

This plastic junction box is sold as a weather/water tight box and has a well-sealing lid; however, it is very thin-walled. The body is scored for removing "slugs" to attach gasketed connectors for passing wire into the box. The thin walls cannot stand up to "punching" out the slugs nor drilling. My box cracked and pieces broke out with each attempt, leaving gaping holes. I did not intend to use it outdoors but in my attic, so glued it back together sufficiently to use indoors. I would not use a junction box like this one, even indoors, ever again. UPDATE - Aug 19, 2022 Seller offered and did replace the box. The Seller supplied some good advice on how best to open the scored holes, which is: 1) keep the lid on to maintain integrity of the box; 2) drill out the hole carefully. As you can see from the pictures, this worked out much better. Also of note, I used a Forstner bit the first time; that resulted in the wall breakage. This time, I used a small holesaw at low speed with the lid attached and with the box fully supported in my bench's end vice. I drilled holes at both ends, installed water-tight ferrules. As already said above, the box is a nice option for wire connections and now that I can easily apply the holes without breaking the walls, I've upped my rating to 4 stars.

This box exceeded my expectations. It is a solid construction box with plastic guarded ports for cords, and the box has a gasket around the lid to keep the weather out. For the price, this is a well made and well thought out box. The wall mounts (screws supplied) make it easy to put this box just about anywhere. I plan to pick up another one to put my holiday inflatables cords in it. I am using the first one for my back yard string light wires.

Very good quality large waterproof extension cord container. Container has 7 access points for cords and PLENTY of room inside for various size cord ends. It has a rubber seal around the top and each cord access point is also sealed with several rubber seals to eliminate water access. Each container end has an all plastic snap to secure the lid. THIS is my only real concern for long term use of this product. For many years I've used indoor extension cords outdoors for my Christmas (and Halloween) decorating. I've OFTEN held my breath by doing this because I knew it wasn't safe. I've had my breakers pop numerous times and now my GFI outlets pop. I hadn't thought about this type product until this year to protect my connections from water. NOT an inexpensive option when needing approx 60 containers. I invested SEVERAL hundred dollars this year in a few different sizes of them. This item is extremely functional, serves as that piece of mind tool and provides complete waterproof protection for my display cords. I'm using 8 of these large ones and simply place them behind my blow mold decorations. I highly recommend this seller and product. Blessings.
