I recently installed this keypad lock and couldn’t be more satisfied. It delivers on every front—design, functionality, and build quality. The lock comes with clear instructions and all necessary hardware. I had it up and running in under an hour without any complications. You can feel the quality of this product right out of the box. It's a solid build, and when you install it by following the step-by-step instructions, there is no wiggle to worry about. In addition to the keypad, it's key accessible as seen here, but you can also disable the lock from the interior during those times you want to grant access. A great plus about this product is that you don't have to give everyone the same exact code, which can allow someone to maintain their door code while removing someone else's in the event that they no longer need access, you can switch the codes simply by following the instructions, which is great for AirBnB properties, and you're able to disable all code entry when you're away. I think one of the best features is something that isn't advertised. You won't need to get up go to a specific location to unlock the door and grant someone access, which could be all the way across town or in a different state or country. If you're concerned about someone accessing the keypad after certain hours, put it in vacation mode or pair with a camera to ensure no one attempts to play guessing games with the keypad to gain entry. By the way, speaking of guessing games, the product is backlit for night entry so no need to feel your way around the keypad.

Very nice, heavy duty entry lock. I really like how the buttons feel, and how bright the backlighting is. It looks better in person than in pictures. The installation is straight forward. The design makes installation easier, including a locating pin to help align everything and a subplate that really simplifies getting the long screws in. There are a few features that separate this from residential locks. The keypad has an option to give audible beeps when the keypad is used. When 4 failed password attempts happen then a loud 10 second alarm sounds and the keypad is unavailable for 60 seconds. The build quality is very heavy duty. Programming the lock and adding/removing codes is very quick and simple. You can use a codes with 4-8 numbers. This is a very nice lock

Completely installed the unit on a door at work, only to find out it was DOA. Put in the batteries, and no power, lights, sounds...nothing. Tried a second set of batteries and still nothing. Never got a chance to actually use this product, so this was returned. Spent a few bucks more on a Schlage unit, and it was an easier install and works flalessly.

The keyless access is the main reason I wanted to use this product. Being commercial grade you know it will hold up to abuse. Overall it was easy to install and program. The wires inside do seem thin so be careful while installing it. Keep in mind, since it is a commercial door handle, it does use the larger hole size for doors. The only thing I would change is to be able to use the key to unlock it and keep it unlocked. It won’t let you remove the key while it’s unlocked. There has to be power to the lock for it to remain unlocked, by using a switch on the back. Good placement for a pass through type area.

Great lock for an internal office door. Not sure how it would hold up on an exterior door. Super easy to rekey and I like that it is a 6 pin lock instead of a 5 pin. One thing I wish it had is a lockout where I could be in my office and disable entry. Right now, I have to open the battery cover and remove a battery for this to happen. Another nice idea would be a volume selection as it can be a little loud in an interior space.

Overall, another great product from Brinks. The instructions are easy to follow which is good because if you have never installed one before you should. The lever action is smooth and the functionality of the keypad is very responsive. It will be very nice to not have to share keys when we leave for the weekend and still keep the back door secure.

If the lock is dead it may be the brand of battery. The “+” post on Energizer isn’t long enough to touch the “+” contact on the lock. I pried the contact out a little bit and put a thick piece of paper behind it to make contact with the battery. I have had the same issue with other devices on occasion. Other battery brands may work without issue.
