It’s not a luxury toaster, but for daily use it consistently produces evenly browned slices. I haven’t noticed any hot spots where one side burns before the other. Design & Use: The cool-touch exterior is a nice safety feature, especially if you’ve ever worried about accidentally brushing a hot surface. The controls are simple and intuitive — just the toast lever and dial, with no confusing buttons. Cleanup is easy too; the removable crumb tray slides out smoothly and catches bits so they don’t burn or fall onto the counter. A couple of small downsides: It’s not the fastest toaster I’ve used — on higher browning settings it takes a little longer than premium models. But the results are steady, so it’s a trade-off I’m okay with. The pop-up action is firm but not especially springy, so you might have to double-check that your toast fully popped up before grabbing it. Overall: The Elite Gourmet ECT1027B does exactly what you want a basic toaster to do: it toasts evenly, handles wider bread well, and feels safer to use around kids or in busy kitchens thanks to the cool-touch design. It has 6 browning levels, which is nice if you like to control how light or dark your toast gets. In everyday use, it works reliably and toasts bread the way you’d expect without anything complicated. One feature I really like is the cancel button, which lets you stop the toasting early if the bread is getting done faster than expected. It’s simple, but it’s convenient and something I end up using often. The crumb tray is another good feature. It slides out easily, so cleaning the toaster is quick and simple. The only downside is that it fills up fairly fast, so you’ll need to empty it regularly if you use the toaster often. The 1.25-inch wide slots are helpful for thicker breads or bagels. They aren’t extremely wide, but honestly they feel about right—I can’t imagine them being much narrower without causing problems. Looks clean. I have the black one which goes well with black appliances. Overall, it’s nothing fancy, but it’s easy to use, easy to clean, and does the basic job of toasting bread well. If you’re looking for a straightforward toaster without a lot of extra features, this one works just fine.

The best thing about this toaster is the price. It does an acceptable job of toasting. If you are looking for something that will toast bread, this will do the job. Unfortunately the slots aren't quite wide enough for bagels. It toasts them finee, but jams when popping them up. I have to use a fork to pull them up. Since my toasting needs are basic, and it won't be a high use item, it's good enough.

Great toaster, purchased it for use on my Sailboat. Put a bagel in it. Ample room for a full-size bagel. Set it on setting 4. Toasted it perfectly and evenly. Was also happy to see that the cord had a generous length of 2 1/2 feet. Just what I needed. The draw on my batteries was 6 A for the three minutes it took to toast my bagel. Very acceptable.

Please excuse the mess in the photo—I had just used it! I wanted to wait and see how it held up before leaving a review, and honestly, we didn’t have high expectations at first. To our surprise, it has worked great and is still going strong. I love that it has different browning levels, so you can choose exactly how toasted you want your bread. My first reaction out of the box was that it felt cheap. It felt light, weak, And small. While it technically does the job, I'm mad that I just didn't go to a store and spend the same amount on something slightly better. I usually toast a Thomas's bagel in the morning and it barely fit. It toasted it, so I can't complain, but I don't feel confident in the durability. This would probably never work for a family, but I live alone and should work for me. Wouldn't purchase again

My current toaster was all metal, heavy and bulky. I wanted something smaller. This toaster is great. It is plastic, very light, about half the width and toasts perfectly. The crumb tray slides out easily. I can store it in a cupboard with no problem. I am very happy with my purchase.
