I don't want to scare anyone but if you look up "demodex folliculorum" and understand that Occusoft Lid Scrub wipes are one way of combating them, you just might buy these. A close-up photo of the microscopic mites that can inhabit your eyelashes and eyebrows just might give you nightmares! My Optometrist was looking at my eyes with a high magnification device and asked me if I tend to get itchy or burning eyes. I said that I sometimes do, and she proceeded to tell me that she saw demodex mites in my eyelashes and that their "waste" can be irritating. GROSS!! We had a brief discussion about the prescription drug I'd seen on TV to combat them and its incredibly high cost. Then she told me about Occusoft wipes and suggested the "Plus" version which is a higher strength and you don't wash it off. I researched them online and also looked for any other solutions. Occusoft wipes turned out to be the least expensive option I found and I was willing to pay a bit extra for the "Plus" version because it's a higher strength treatment. I've used these wipes for about four months but have not examined my eyelashes to find out if they've worked. I'll find out at my next Optometrist appointment. However, I do experience less itching and redness (some is from allergies) so I'll be surprised if I find it hasn't worked. These wipes have a cooling effect and feel good to use. They do moisturize slightly, as well. This type of treatment apparently needs a duration of several weeks of daily use initially, then a less frequent maintenance use after that. I highly recommend these or the wash off version as your Optometrist or Opthalmologist recommends. It sure beats the high cost of a prescription!

I’ve been using them consistently during my LASIK recovery, and they’ve become an important part of my routine. Definitely a product I would purchase again and recommend to anyone looking for gentle and effective eyelid cleansing.

This is THE wipe. I've tried a several for blepharitis. The regular ocusoft wipes and others are too soapy and soft and some more expensive wipes burn like hell. These are scrubby but not too abrasive, not soapy, and don't sting. I cut them once while it's folded so I get three. I use 1/3 morning and night and usually add a bit of oil after. I don't get flare-ups as long as I'm consistently using these.

My doctor recommended these for treating a stye. They do work, there is no stinging or skin irritation but in my mind they're more expensive than I would like. Next time I'll try the no tears baby shampoo which is less than 25% of the cost.

I saw this recommended by someone on Reddit for softening up milia to the point that you can actually lance/extract it yourself (if you know how to do this safely). For anyone unfamiliar with the term, milia are those tiny bumps that can’t actually be popped like a regular pimple. Trapped dead skin cells that form tiny cysts below the surface of your skin cause milia. Your body naturally gets rid of dead skin cells by shedding them to make room for new cells to grow and take their place. When your old skin cells don't fall off of your body, new skin grows on top of them and traps them underneath. I get them when I use an occlusive like Aquaphor or Petroleum jelly around my eyes — it’s the only way I can keep the stronger topicals like tretinoin from getting into my eyes at night while I sleep and irritating them. Anyway, someone on Reddit mentioned that they use this product for softening up their milia to the point that they CAN break the surface the skin and be extracted (with a sterile needle). I was skeptical but at such a cheap price point, it couldn’t hurt. And I felt like it was low risk since this product is specifically formulated to be safe for use on your eyes. And it absolutely does work! I swiped it over my milia spot a couple times per day for a week. Since I was only using a tiny portion of the square wipe, I just put it into a ziplock bag and used 1 wipe per day. It absolutely softened the skin on the milia to the point that I was able to lance with a sterile needle and extract it! If you’ve ever dealt with milia or had to pay the dermatologist to extract them, you know the frustration :) This product is a game changer for me. And I’ve started using these like they’re intended, on my eyes, and I love them for that too. I work a data heavy job and my eyes get super dry feeling, gritty and tired from staring intensely at rows and rows of data all day, and these wipes provide a really nice refreshing coolness that helps them perk up. I’ve started using them to keep any pimples clean too (having major skin issues over the last year from hormonal changes). I love this product and have recommended it to sooo many people. Highly recommend!
