The problem has always been the electronics. The original pots and switches weren't bad, but after a few pickup swaps, and some switch mods, they were a mess. Some solder joints got jostled loose during a recent move, and the thought of re-doing everything was very daunting. I saw a review of these Obsidian Wire wiring harness on YouTube, and decided to take the leap. The quality of components and ease-of-installation made a lot of sense to me, and it handled the weird (old, fragile) wires from the pickups extremely well. Sure, it's a bit more $ than the individual components, but it's kind of a no-brainer. It took me about 20 minutes to install, and I took my time. Very easy to do, and sounds great. Love the extra combos and phase settings. Review: Great unit! - This is a really great way to get different tones/pickup combinations from a Strat. Love being able to have the neck “always on” in you want. Well made, and zero noise added.

Great unit!
This is a really great way to get different tones/pickup combinations from a Strat. Love being able to have the neck “always on” in you want. Well made, and zero noise added.

So EASY!!
A little pricey but when you add the time savings and frustration of soldering to the picture…these setups are a no brainer. Easy instructions to follow and perfect fit and function.
