First time user
It's my first time using pon for plants, and I mus say it's amazing. Less than a week plans started thriving. Very easy to use. And no more fungus gnats. Yay.

Great!
I have previously made my own semi pon from the same components that are in Basicpon, but for ease I bought a couple bags of Basicpon. Value for money is about the same as the one I mixed myself, so not really good or bad. It's ever so slightly smaller than the components in the one I mixed myself and a little more dusty, but outside that I can't really tell any difference. It's good quality and does what it says on the tin, thankfully without the fertiliser pellets that they add in the other semi pon mix.I have a few of my baby plants in this pon, plus an adult monstera albo half moon and a spotted begonia, all of which are thriving and healthy. Can't recommend switching to semi pon enough, really has made a world of difference for my plants and me. So much easier to avoid over watering, or under watering, and not a single gnat in sight. Will be re-purchasing when I run out again.

Don’t forget to rinse it!
Love this stuff. For those interested in semi hydro pon is squally the go to. I prefer this type so I can tailor my own fertiliser feeds rather than slow release (I’m constantly paranoid if it’s “running out of goodness” being able to add my own feed to this plain pon is most suited to me) I like buying through Amazon as these huge bags can be heavy. Having over 150 houseplants mainly in pon I find it a great way to keep check on pests (I’m talking about you fungus gnats). I do find though through travel and settling it really does need a good rinse through before it’s used.

Good but not my first choice
I prefer the Soil Ninja fine semi hydro, probably the most comparable product.Comparing the two, the Lechuza-Pon basic is much, much dirtier and duster. The particle size is also much less consistent with lechuza. It still gets the job done and is much cheaper gram for gram, it just takes more preparation and rinsing. I use it for my alocasias, but will probably start using it for some of my other finer rooted aroid plants because fungus gnats are the devil. I like that it doesn't have fertiliser already built in because I'm a control freak with my supplements. I like thats its reusable with a good washing as compared to soil. Its also way easier to repot than with soil and harvest corms, so i dont imagine I'll need to buy tons.

Like the product but delivery wasn't good.
Lechuza Basicpon is great substrate for growing cacti and succulents. It consists of lava rock, pumice and zeolite. Fast draining and retaining just enough moisture for the cacti to have a good drink without risking overwatering. In humid UK weather it's perfect for growing cacti and succulents indoors. I water my cacti in summer with a bit of fertiliser and it seems to be enough. You could also add a bit of warm castings or soil for plants which prefer richer substrate. Can be used with any house plants really instead of perlite. To add drainage and make the soil lighter. Great product.

Bien pour cactus et succulentes
Substrat idéal pour les succulent et les cactus. Pas nutritif mais très drainant. Je rajoute un melange de terre de jardin et de terreau tamisé, environ 50%.

Top product
Bijna alle planten op pin staan. Werkt echt heel fijn. Bijna geen vliegjes meer in huis

That to choose upon, has nutritions in it already
I plant my plants in semi Hydro. I like to chew upon pebbles I like them because they have nutrition inside the choose upon. So you don’t need to fort Elois the plants for 2 to 3 months depending on what kind of plant you have in there I use no drainage vessels and seeing the two upon through looks good.

Great product to put in the bottom of self watering pots
The self-watering pots from Lechuza are the best system for watering plants that I have tried!Simply put the plants in there and let it grow.We have used these for about one year and we have purchased more and more in different sizes, now we have about 15 pots. We use the for all types of plants, inside the home and also outside.Outstanding quality and well designed. They are a little more expensive, but will keep your plants alive :)
