If you're tied off overhead all day and wearing a fall protection harness for hours on end, those stiff shoulder straps and heavy webbed seams love to dig right into the side of your neck every time you turn or reach. I picked up this 2-pack of soft seat belt pads to slip over the shoulder straps on my safety harness, and they solved the problem immediately. The thick padding sits right where the webbing hits your neck, softening that hard seam edge so you aren't raw by the end of a shift. They slide right over standard harness straps without bunching up, making moving around on a job site way more comfortable. The only minor hitch is that with constant reaching and moving around, the Velcro closure can twist around the strap a bit after a while—probably the same thing that happens on a car seat belt with a lot of movement. But adjusting it back into place takes two seconds, and the comfort upgrade on your neck is well worth it. A cheap, easy fix for trade workers who wear fall protection harnesses daily—keeps stiff webbed straps from chafing your neck without adding bulky gear.

They fit my seat belt perfectly. The purpose of me buying these is because my new shirts keep getting little holes. After putting much thought into why and reading other Land’s End customers comments I believe the holes are from the seatbelt as they are always in the same exact spot. We’ll see if I can keep my shirts holeless now. I just have to remember to slide it into position after I buckle.

I bought this not so much for a seat belt, but rather for carrying straps. Two straps came part with the iron flask bottle carrier as well as a lunch bag I previously bought on Amazon, and the third one is a carrying strap designed for skateboards. Sometime before I my first purchase of this, I kept getting these linear rashes on my neck formed from my water bottle's shoulder strap rubbing against my neck worsens by the weight of half a gallon of water. When I bought this, I gave it a try just on my water bottle, and after enjoying it there I bought another set, and eventually added the seat belt covers to two other shoulder straps in my regular life. The seat belt cover easily slides along the straps I attach them to, but depending on how tacky my skin is in response to perspiration or humidity, it may or may not slide along my skin. The seat belt cover has since protected my skin from the abrasions and friction Burns caused by my straps. I chose black for a couple of reasons. One is because it's forgiving of accidents, and doesn't need as much maintenance as a lighter color. The other reason is because it matches the color theme of my stuff: mostly black. It's easy to attach to your bags by simply pulling apart where it attaches with the velcro, wrap it around and simply press together the opposite pieces of Velcro. They can also provide some additional insulation from the outdoor weather including both sunlight and air temperatures alongside your normal outerwear.
