The Army Painter, Speedpaint 2.0 Starter Set, 10 x 18 ml Acrylic Paints

These speed paints are very easy to paint with since they come pretty nicely pre thinned and they dry within a minute or two notably the zealot yellow and pallid bone paints are much more transparent than the other paints so you could use them like a wash after your minis main paint scheme is done like I did for the commando (picture 6) this product is pretty pricey though which turned me off from this product for a while but I think it’s worth it as even after painting 8 miniatures none of the colors I used were noticeably depleted owing a lot to how long it lasts on a wet pallet my only issue with the product itself is the fact that because I’m painting battletech minis pallid bone and especially peachy flesh don’t get much use with the stompy robots but that’s clearly an issue of what I’m painting and not with this set of speed paints

Had to really learn how to use it. It definitely has a learning curve, especially painting things that are largely one color like space marines. But once you figure that out it becomes very flexible colors mix together well. Most of my orks are blends of green yellow and brown. So buying the starter set is enough to really figure it out and experiment. This paint really does alot of the heavy lifting of bringing out the highlights and shadows. The other nice thing about this paint is a little goes a long way 5 drops of a color is normally enough to finish a whole model. So you really get your money's worth.

The Army Painter Speedpaints are a game-changer for mini painting. They flow smoothly, settle naturally into recesses, and create great shading with minimal effort. Good Quality, each bottle worked great. Going to use this kit to see how many mini's I can paint before running out of paint. It feels like there is not ALOT of paint in there but regardless using it for minis is my primary purpose. Was able to get multiple layers down very quickly. The wide ranges of red just from the one red paint looks very good. I spent only a few minutes painting this mini. Dried quick. Very thin paint doesn't need thinned out however you can thin or thicken it to change its properties. its expensive yes, but I have over 400 paints from multiple companies. I think this paint might replace all of them when they run out. Its almost like a wash that works as a paint. Should be able to sue it on some small details but other paints might be better for eyes and eyebrows kind of detail.

I had no experience with speed paints before this set. I had dozens of pieces I wanted to paint and didn’t really want to spend time on tiny little details. I figured this would be a good quick and dirty solution, but the end result amazed me! The quality was impressive with the shade effects looking very nice. The “speed” in speed paint is an accurate description. It provided nice color variations in little time, and dried quickly. Excellent tool to have in your arsenal.

Speed Paint is a very different animal than standard acrylic. While it has good color and opacity, I personally find the flow a bit much. You also have to assemble the model first when using speed paint to make the shadows work correctly. This can be a problem with intricate models that have arms crossed over chest details and the like, which I normally paint before assembling, because it's so hard to get in there once assembled. As far as blending goes, my results have been mixed, some of that is due to having to use different unfamiliar techniques. For new painters starting out, be sure to review the videos Army Painter puts out. It is quality paint and applied properly works as intended. Personally, I'll stick to washes and highlights.

These paints are great and do all the things they are advertised to do! I am a novice who started 3D printing minis and painting them. These paints don"t take much paint to cover a surface. They look great, have good adhesion after priming, and dry quickly. Considering im painting small things, these paints shouuld last a while and provide good value.

Förvånansvärt bra faktiskt. Täcker riktigt bra på bara ett slag. Bra konsistens direkt ur burken och lätt att måla med. Viktigt att man har en stadig hand och målar försiktigt då det är svårt att rätta till misstag.
