can i put the sky box in a cupboard with the door closed and still change channels with this product?

Yes Steve. I have my Sky Box in the lounge in a TV cabinet with the doors closed and I can change channels no problem through in my kitchen which is in another room completely. Very happy with this product. Hope this helps you.

Is everything you need to connect to a 2nd TV included or do you need additional wiring?

Hi, This device is installed between your TV and the coaxial cable you have running to it. Providing that your SKY box is connected to your aerial splitter via its RF2 output AND that your splitter has DC pass, you do not need anything else. Your SKY box will send power from its RF2 output, through the splitter to this magic eye. The magic eye will then receive an IR signal from your 2nd TV's remote and feed it back down the coax cable, through your splitter, and into your SKY box. I hope that this helps. I have a dvd recorder with 2 connections, could i plug the magic eye into 1 of the connectors and record sky programmes?

You can use a DVD recorder to record Sky if it has a hard disc and and an Analogue Tuner. The only purpose of the Magic Eye is to allow you to remotely operate a Sky box for a second TV, which will show the same programme as the "master TV". Check Sky box instructions for how to connect your recorder/Magic Eye/remote TV.
