I highly recommend these bread slings. They work very well for transferring dough in and out of hot Dutch ovens. It can sometimes seem like there is a LOT of equipment to get when you want to get into sourdough baking. But these are worth it. (Remember NOT to touch the sling with your bear hand when it comes out of the oven.) I recommend these over parchment paper, which I find can rip. I use both the round and oval slings regularly. I put a sling in top of the proofing basket and flip the basket over to get the dough onto the sling. Then I lower it into a Dutch oven. (You can use a cold Dutch oven or a warm one - I’ve gotten comparable results.) One possible downside that I didn’t think about: a sling that is too thick could keep the Dutch oven lid from snuggly fitting. These seem to work fine though. These are way better for my sourdough baking instead of parchment paper. These fit perfectly in my respective Dutch ovens. I simply place one on top of my cold-proofed dough in the banneton. Flip it over and voila! Gently lift into my preheated Dutch oven and bake away. Once the bread is perfectly baked, lift the end flaps (with gloved hands, of course) and remove. They hand wash well, too. Great investment.

Very useful, good quality, thicker than I expected

Just like I ordered. They are very helpful lifting sourdough bread out of a hot dutch oven. Mo complaints here and I will definitely reorder when needed.

I’ve been using these for bread baking and they are so much easier than parchment paper! They’re holding up well so far. I love that’s there’s two sizes. One fits perfectly in my Dutch oven and the other is perfect for a loaf pan. They’re just the right length to be able to pick up without burning yourself. They clean easily too. They’re well worth the money!

I bought these silicone mats to make bread baking easier, as I used parchment paper before, which was less convenient. So, this purchase has made bread baking much more convenient. They fit my bread baskets perfectly. I have 10 inch baskets.
