Great design, substantial quality & a super price!
I spent a substantial amount of time (too much actually) looking at probably a hundred different products/configurations of lights to add to a rifle rail. There are so many different options out there. When I saw this light, it sort of "clicked" that this was what I was looking for. I purchased two lights, because I have two H&K 416 replica assault rifles mounted in a military HUMVEE as a display. This light is compact, very well built, and throws an excellent beam of light, inside or outside, at night. The strobe effect is excellent. The switch design and placement on the unit is easy/foolproof to use when mounted on the bottom rail of the forearm. Since these rifles are replicas, I can't speak to how the light mount holds up when fired, but the installation (and removal) onto/of of the rail is easy, and the light locks securely into place on the rail. It would appear to be impossible to shoot the unit loose off the rail because of the design and tight clamping spring mechanism that holds it in place (one complaint that I saw reappear fairly regularly in other reviews on lights in this price range was that the mounts would tend to loosen up after firing rounds on the range). The single battery slips in easily, and obey the instructions to not over-tighten the light head on battery installation. An eighth to a quarter turn of the light head after contact with the rubber O-ring is all that is needed. Again, since these rifles are replicas, I didn't necessarily want/need to hang a $200 light on a $400 gun. The price is super for this light! Put this light on your short list of choices. You won't be disappointed!

Great product
I like this light a lot and have bought 3 of them. Solid metal construction. Really like the on/off switch which would be easy to use when under stress. Prefer the 3V battery on this light to a rechargeable light. The light quickly mounts or dismounts from a standard rail. Seems to hold up under stiff recoil, i.e., 10mm handgun.

the brightness
I like the overall way it fits the weapon , snug and tight yet easily removes when need be . a good buy at a reasonable price ,and the 300 lumens lights up the area aimed at . I gave it 4 stars for the price alone yet the quality of the item is great .

Fits great on Glock 22 and will fit(and stay on) Taurus Pt111 G2
This is a very bright light and its easy to put on, I got it 2day at 10 and on my lunch break went to the range to test it on my Glock22, it held up perfect didnt move at all, I shot 150 rounds out of my G22(40cal which I bought the light for) and I love it... Also once I was out 40 ammo I tested it on my 9(Taurus pt111 G2) it was kinda wobbly but it still stayed on n in place for 200 rounds. .. But I did notice with the Taurus the light kinda sits alil lower but All in all this is a great light and at this price this is a AMAZING light!!! Also once I got home I told my wife to play around with it(she hates gun and everything dealing with guns) but yet she loves it and still has all the lights off playing with it Smiling LOL.... For that along I would give this 100 stars....

Great fit, Better price, prob not for competition shooters
Saw a bunch of mixed reviews on this particular item. I purchased this item for a 12g bull pup home defense. It does exactly what I need it to do. Super easy install (really tough clamping mech). Had to shim it a lil on the picatinny rail with a stick-on felt pad but works great and is now nice and tight. On off is in perfect place for what I need. Not rechargeable so I purchased extra batteries. It fits on my G23 Gen 2 like it was made for it. Only reason I didn't leave on is I wanted the light/laser combo. It even has the same size specs as the Olight, so finding a holster match isn't impossible.

DefendTek DT-M1C. Great Product But Bad Switch And Quick Release Mount
I ordered this DefendTek DT-M1C weapon light on Monday the other evening and received the order Wednesday afternoon. At first glance I thought this light is very legit. It has a nice build and I love the quick release mount that it has for the picatinny rail. I was disappointed once I put the battery in (totally unaware of the bulb being blown) and almost gave up on it. So I bought the Streamlight TLR-3 weapon light the same evening to recompense for the DT-M1C being a defect. I did get in touch with DefendTek on their Facebook page. I also sent them a follow up message here. They responded promptly reassuring me that I did have a defective light (bad bulb) and that they were fixing the problem as we spoke. They immediately shipped me a new DefendTek DT-M1C weapon light Thursday. I received it today in the mail (Saturday) and let me just say this thing has gone far beyond my expectations. I put it up against my Streamlight TLR-3 for comparison and let me tell you it won overall in my decision to make it my everyday carry. The hot spot is just a tad smaller than the TLR-3 hot spot, but the spill on both lights are the same. I love the strobe feature as well. You don't even have to shine this light towards you directly for it to disorient your functions. This light is extremely bright!! Much brighter than the TLR-3!! Only complaint that I have about this weapon light (and I hope that DefendTek is reading this) is that the quick release mounting system is very unstable when correctly mounted. It's not very stiff which is what I would like for it to be when it comes to the light being mounted on my gun (Taurus G2C 9mm). But I have to say that it is fully mounted on the gun. You can hear the "click" when it is correctly installed on the rail. But that was my only complaint. Just about the light being too loose on the rail when mounted. Other than that, EXCELLENT product!! Two thumbs up!! I will definitely be keeping this light as my everyday carry. Plus Amazon has it priced much cheaper than the actual msrp. Thanks DefendTek!! Great product!! *Update* 09/23/18 As of this morning, the replacement DT-M1C weapon light that DefendTek sent me was no longer functioning. I checked it and I no longer had operation. I pulled the battery out and reinstalled it. Still no function. I didn't know what had happened. I ended up changing batteries all together and found out that while I had the light mounted on my gun while in my holster, the switch had been activated being that it's so large and completely drained out the battery in a short time. I gave 3 stars only because of the switch. The concept of the product is wonderful. The build is wonderful. Other than the release mount being loose and the switch being a little larger than needed, it's a great product. Could be tons better. I hope you come out with a 2nd or 3rd gen on this model (not sure if this is the first). It would greatly improve this weapon light.

Awesome light for the low price!
I was pleasantly surprised with this light. I had been looking at some Streamlight models when I came across this. I read the reviews and figured for $22 why not give it a try? Light is "rated" at 300 lumens, but when compared to some 500 lumen flashlights I have it seems to be on par with them in terms of brightness. I put it on my full size XD Mod and it fits perfectly, not extending past the barrel but also no shadows from the pistol either. The slide switch is easy to get to, as I have large hands, with ease. I haven't rated it yet for durability since I have had this for less than a week, but I'll follow up in the months to come. I purchased this for home defense and it lights up the rooms and hallways with ease. The strobe feature is very fast, and combined with the brightness it should work fine for disorientation. The quality so far has piqued my interest in their other products. Would not hesitate to purchase again.

LOOK AT MY PHOTO... DO NOT BUY THIS!
Open your wallet. Take out $25. Light it on fire. Same end result here. (Yes, I could have returned IF I didn't get so excited before fully testing it and painted over the awful white lettering on the side of it!). *** A pistol light is something that you need to spend money on. PERIOD. I seriously have to question some of these 5 star reviews. Here's the deal. I took it out of the box. Decent aluminum build quality. The spring for the quick mount was strong. No complaints there. I completely missed the battery that comes with it is NON RECHARGEABLE. I put the battery in and quickly figured out the on/off process. A little weird (you have to turn the light off and turn it back on to toggle STEADY/STROBE) but OK, whatever. 10 minutes later I put it on my gun. Tight fit on my Taurus G2C rail (in fact he chewed it up a bit sliding it on). After about 4 or 5 switch slides it sputtered out and wouldn't turn back on. OK, maybe I got a dead battery. I had one in another item that was new... STILL DIDN’T WORK. So here we go. I take it apart and immediately a ball bearing is rolling around in there under the switch cover. It looks like there is a VERY SMALL divot for the bearing to sit in for the slider to run across. Good luck putting that back in there if you take this cover off. After about 10 minutes I accidentally found the problem when the light came on for a split second. The entire circuit board shifts left to right so the slide switch doesn't have a tight enough tolerance to connect to the ON position. Granted, this thing will never be on my gun in real life but I wanted to see if I could fix it since it wasn't going back. I cut a small piece of WD-40 nozzle, sliced it halfway down and wedged it in there pushing the board closer to the on position side. This seems to have worked (for now). The bigger picture is that entire switch component is no where close to being water resistant. A dip in water or a heavy rain and all those connections are compromised. Lastly, if you keep this on your gun and it rolled over, it is totally plausible the lightest pressure will move the switch to ON. Please save your money and roll it into a trusted manufacturer with a warranty.
