This kit is amazing. I especially like the glass test tube style packaging. Glass is so much nicer than plastic containers and gives the whole kit an upscale look and feel. When you open the bottles you can smell how fresh the spices are. Simmered in a red wine and my whole house smelled fantastic. Lots of recipes to switch it up according to your tastes And don't forget spiced apple cider as well!

With the holidays approaching, this was a fun and unique (and cheap!) gift - and not just for wine lovers! There are a dozen different spices you can mix and match to flavor your mulled wine, and if you don't know where to start the included recipe book has several great ideas. There's enough in each vial to make several batches, or more if you find some recipes that utilize different sets of spices. There's also recipes for non-alcoholic mulled ciders instead if you or someone you're thinking of gifting this to doesn't drink. Most of the other ingredients in the recipes are common things you can get at any grocery store or probably even have at home (fruits, juices, etc) - the only thing you may want to pick up to be included with the gift is a mortar and pestle (or some way of grinding some of the spices). It's not required, but it will bring out more of the flavors.

This was a very good idea for a gift for someone who likes to dabble in wine making.

10.11.22~ Anyone whose watched 'It's a Wonderful Life' is intrigued by Mulled Wine. When Clarence is sitting at Nick's Bar (in the alternate life) and asks for mulled wine. The rest you know, or will find out, Mulled Wine is a throwback to Christmases Past. It's quite easy to make without heating, and in my opinion better sat overnight & warmed at serving. 'Craftly' Kit mulls/marinates quite well but a couple things you should know~ My kit did not come with shown ingredients. Substitutions were made. As well advertises "Orange " as mulled wine is basically warm sangria and No Orange. Included~ * Cinnamon (very fragrant) * Anise Seeds (mild) * Juniper Berries (not very plump) * Green Cardamom (excellent & needed for signature flavor) * Cloves (lighter side better for liquid vs pie) * Allspice Berries (not very fragrant & minimal flavor) * Pink peppercorns (nice addition to boost juniper flavor) * Coriander Seeds (good enough to pop curry) * Ginger (very dry but reconstituted well & no burn) * Cranberries (substituted for cherries) * Raisins & Almonds (exactly what you'd expect) Added 'Straight from France' Bitter Orange Peel. Really made the difference in the Aromatics. You can use fresh but the citric juice alters a warm drink & brings up the acidity. While the glass vials and corks make a nice presentation, the corks are not airtight and will stay fresh as long a corked bottle of wine. Stashed mine in a ziploc to get through holiday season starting with Halloween. All in all it's a nice combo. Arrives in great gift presentation to ship to door or stash as party gift. You can even chill it in fridge in airtight pitcher and warm as the urge for comfort rolls in. Hope this helps & Cheers.

This is one of those products that seems like it could be a great gift for someone, however, the end result will depend on the skill of whoever is actually using this product to make the wine. If you know what you're doing, or even if you have moderate experience with something like this, I think you'll enjoy this. The flavors you can get with this are pretty delicious, but if you make it wrong you will probably find it to be not to your liking. I think for the average consumer this is a 4 star product just because of the difficulty in making the finished product. If you know what you're doing, easily a 5 star.

I loved it! I bought one for myself and another one to give to a friend, and we both enjoyed making Rot Glühwein together, the flavor is great and super easy to make. I also really like the format, I want to take these little tubes everywhere in the future, in case I need to make myself a natural tea or something. Super cool idea :)

Tolles Produkt! Wir trinken gerne Glühwein zuhause, meistens beschränkt sich das aber darauf, einfach eine Flasche zu kaufen und warm zu machen. Jetzt freuen wir uns darauf in diesem Winter mal neue Geschmacksrichtungen zu entdecken! Manche von den Zutaten könnte man außerdem auch zum kochen benutzen (z.B. Koriandersamen) oder zum Lebkuchen backen und für heiße Schokolade. Sehr cool, vor allem weil die Mengen für einen Privathaushalt gut abgestimmt sind. Und das zu einem deutlich günstigeren Preis, als all diese Zutaten einzeln zu kaufen. Das ganze kommt in einer schlichten, schönen und vor allem wertigen Verpackung (und die Glasröhrchen lassen sich nach Gebrauch weiterverwenden). Werden wir sicher auch das ein oder andere mal Verschenken!

Große Vielfalt; kam als Geschenk super an

Dieses DIY-Glühwein Set von Craftly beinhaltet zwölf unterschiedliche Gewürze (Ingwer, Rosa Pfeffer, Grüner Kardamom, Kirschen, Piment, Mandeln, Nelken, Koriandersamen, Wacholderbeeren, Anis, Zimt und Rosinen), mit denen man seinem Glühwein eine individuelle Note geben kann. Die Geschmacksnuancen reichen von mild-fruchtig bis hin zu würzig-scharf. Im beiliegenden Rezeptheftchen werden die Botanicals kurz beschrieben und einige Rezepte vorgestellt. Das Heftchen ist auf alle Fälle brauchbar, aber es hätte gerne ausführlicher ausfallen dürfen. Die Beschreibung ist für meinen Geschmack etwas knapp geraten. Auch die Gestaltung des Hefts empfinde ich für ein Geschenkset in dieser Preisklasse als äußerst sparsam. Hier hätte ich mir etwas mehr Kreativität gewünscht. Die kleinen Glasröhrchen mit Korkverschluss sind dagegen sehr ansprechend und auch bis oben hin gefüllt. So eine Verpackung hat Stil und ist immer ein toller Hingucker. Qualitativ bin ich mit den Botanicals recht zufrieden, auch wenn es sich hier nicht um Bio-Qualität handelt. Es macht Spaß die unterschiedlichen Aromen auszuprobieren und eigene Glühwein-Kreationen zu verkosten. Mit einem guten Wein und eventuell etwas braunem Kandiszucker ergänzt (beides ist nicht enthalten), kann dieses DIY-Set auch gut verschenkt werden.

Ansprechend zusammengestellte Auswahl an Gewürzen. Besonders gut als Aktivität für einen gemütlichen Nachmittag mit Freunden. Die Anleitung ist einfach zu befolgen und enthält nützliche Tipps für die Dosierung und welcher Wein verwendet werden soll.
