It's a novelty but a fun one for sure. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice fire starter *by C***A on January 19, 2026* Great way to teach hand eye coordination and start a fire ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent kit once modified *by R***Z on April 4, 2025* This kit needs a little bit of modification once you get it, but after that it works fairly well. You need to cut the notch back to the center (or almost center) of the divot where you put the drill mandrel. As you create dust, there's nowhere for it to go unless the notch enters that space. I also undercut the bottom of the notch. That allows for a deeper seat and more airflow. After that, it worked just fine. I wished the top handle would stay on, but it's not a big deal to assemble it again once it falls off. It's a great learning tool for kids and those new to this style of fire starting.
