A lovely, traditional style, earthenware mixing bowl.
This review is for the larger 5000ml sized bowl. There appears to be a discrepancy with sizing in the listing. Mine has an internal diameter of 28.5cm, but it does hold 5 litres. I'm not sure if there has been a change in design or, whether the size listed is for the box it comes in. Either way, it's capacity is 5000ml. For making something like a Christmas cake, this is the size you need. For me, the smaller bowl would just be too small for mixing in. It's a lovely earthenware traditional style bowl. The sort that you see in period dramas, although this is light blue on the outside, those are usually buff coloured. (Tala do make their bowls in the buff colour, if that's what you want). It's quite substantial. Weighing in at 2.4kg or just over 5lbs. It states that it is microwave, dishwasher and ovenproof. With a heat proof temperature of 230 deg centigrade. In use it's really nice. Its weight means that it is very stable when you're mixing. One side has a flat surface. (photo). I'm assuming this is so you can tilt it up on to that side when you're scraping it out. It's certainly what I use it for. It just about fits, and sits on the base of a Kenwood mixer, so I sometimes use it like that. Can't comment on other mixers, but my guess would be that the distance is probably similar. Overall, I'm very happy. Yes it will break if you drop it (it's pottery), but it's great in use, and with a modicum of care, should last for many years. I hope you found this review helpful.

Inspiring to Bake offers
Thought long and hard before buying this one. Our old one was a pleasure to use but the appearing crack signalled that entropy and the second law of thermodynamics had set in. So, wanted a new one that had quality, class, sturdiness, durability ( A mixing bowl of distinction) - it was not cheap but you usually get what you pay for and so far this baking reservoir is working out well. Pleased to say it appears to have satisfied all the aforementioned criteria. The large size means you can beat away without fear that the ingredients will end up on the ceiling or worktop or pet. A note of caution - it can lead to bigger cakes for you comfort eaters !

A big, heavy mixing bowl.
The bowl is much bigger than I was expecting and I find it incredibly heavy! It's not very practical for making small amounts for home use. It's a nice looking bowl and very sturdy.

Pretty and practical
Huge bowl! But as a messy cook who cooks in large quantities, I found this to be perfect for my needs, there's no chance any food is going to fly out of the bowl! It's fairly heavy, so would be nice if the handles at the sides were just a tad bigger to help carry the thing, but this isn't a big concern, and not enough to give it a lesser rating. The weight of the item helps when it comes to making cake mixes and the like, since you don't need to hold it still when stirring. And obviously, the reason why I bought this particular item is that is just looks so pretty. The colours are a little bit brighter than what the picture suggests, and it complements my kitchen perfectly. I haven't found a single reason so far to criticise the item (and it has been used near constantly since I bought it a few weeks ago), so a five star rating it'll get!

Huge pretty bowl!
This bowl is oven safe to 230c which may be of use to some. It holds 5 litres, it's pretty big. It feels more solid than the Mason Cash ones. It has a flat part on the side so you can whisk with the bowl on it's side, for my needs that seems a bit of a waste of time, I may be proven wrong, but I am placing that to the back when it's on display. It gets 5 stars because it's a great big bowl that's very useful and is such a pretty colour.

PERFECT!!
Bought this as a surprise for my husband as he's taken up bread making during the lock down . Going by the comments coming out of the kitchen this is without a doubt THE best bowl for allowing the bread to rise, the dough comes away from the sides cleanly and the flattened edge just makes the whole process so much easier then the usual kitchen bowl he was using before. I honestly cannot give this enough stars !

Check on arrival
Bowl seems fine, but I bought it in September as a Christmas present. Literally took it upstairs and stored safely immediately, but left it in the very thorough bubble wrap to be on the safe side (even after wrapping). When my wife opened on Christmas Day we discovered a big crack in the bowl, and the return window has now closed and I have no way of contacting the suppliers. Lesson learned, but it maybe does say something about the strength/sturdiness of the product.
