Does this meet the regs (part J?) for gas flue inspection hatches?

According to my central heating engineer who carrier out our annual service on Monday 7th July.

Is the adhesive fixing secure?

The panels are quite light in weight and I used 'no nails' adhesive which seemed to work okay when fixing to plasterboard/wood. It would also be quite easy to use screws or nails on the inside returns if you wanted to make certain that it would not come loose. I have had no problems with this item.

Can the panels be painted? Is the finish glossy or matte?

Matte, you could paint them but i wouldn't recommend it, it will crack

is this panel water proof

It is made of plastic, which is waterproof but it is not a fully sealed unit and, as it needs to be fixed in, there is always the possibility that water may get in/out around the fixing points. It really depends on whether you use it inside or out the home and for what you want it for. I have used it indoors in an en-suite as an access panel for plumbing where water does not get onto it. Naturally I have had no trouble and it is perfect for that job.
