That's because Bosch has been a key player in the braking industry since applying for its first brake system design patent in 1936. The Bosch QuietCast line draws on this robust experience to deliver OE quality performance, industry-leading strength and durability, and exclusive innovations including Molded Shim Technology (MST). QuietCast pads feature the industry's best pre-attached OE style multilayer rubber core shims, ensuring the highest quality bond between rubber and steel, for lower noise, increased strength, and exemplary corrosion resistance. The proprietary Semi-Metallic friction material is meticulously engineered to achieve robust performance, exceptional stopping power, and quiet operation with low dust. Corrosion and rust resistant powder-coated backing plates deliver increased product life. OE style slots and chamfers ensure premium quality, fit, and function. Set includes pads for 1 axle (2 wheels), hardware kit (where available), and synthetic lubricant for reduced resistance on sliding contact points. Compatible with select vehicles (Note: vehicle trim level may affect fitment - verify specific vehicle fitment details with fit checker above). ## Features - [THE BOSCH ADVANTAGE] - The Bosch QuietCast line draws on over 77 years of OE braking excellence; promising the highest quality performance, industry-leading strength and durability, and exclusive innovations including Molded Shim Technology (MST) - [QUIETER STOPS] - The industry's best pre-attached OE style multilayer rubber core shims ensure the highest quality bond between rubber and steel, resulting in lower noise, increased strength, and corrosion resistance - [EXCEPTIONAL FRICTION MATERIAL] - Rigorously formulated and tested by Bosch engineers, the Semi-Metallic friction material in the QuietCast line is meticulously engineered for robust performance, exceptional stopping power, and quiet, low dust operation - [BOSCH DURABILITY] - Powder-coated backing plate prevents rust and corrosion for increased product life of the brake pad; Slots and chamfers ensure premium quality, fit, and function - [READY TO INSTALL] - Set includes pads for 1 axle (2 wheels), hardware kit, and synthetic lubricant for reduced resistance on sliding contact points - REAR: Compatible with select vehicles (Note: vehicle trim level/engine may affect fitment - verify specific vehicle fitment details with fit checker above): AUDI: 2007-15 Q7; PORSCHE: 2003-06,2009-10 Cayenne; VOLKSWAGEN: 2004-10 Touareg ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B008HZPCQM | | Auto Part Position | Rear | | Automotive Fit Type | Vehicle Specific Fit | | Best Sellers Rank | #514,233 in Automotive ( See Top 100 in Automotive ) #3,103 in Automotive Replacement Brake Pads | | Brand Name | Bosch | | Compatible with Vehicle Type | Automotive | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars (204) | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00077212089734 | | Included Components | Brake Pads | | Item Highlight | Compatible with Select Audi Q7; Porsche Cayenne; Volkswagen Touareg | | Item Type Name | Brake Pads | | Item Weight | 2.2 pounds | | Manufacturer | Bosch Automotive | | Manufacturer Part Number | BP978 | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | Bosch Brake Components LLC (BBC) warrants all BBC Brake Products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship, from date of purchase by the original verified purchaser from an authorized installer or retailer. | | Material Type | Semi-Metallic | | Model Number | BP978 | | Number of Items | 1 | | UPC | 077212089734 | ## Product Details - **Auto Part Position:** Rear - **Brand:** Bosch - **Global Trade Identification Number:** 00077212089734 - **Material:** Semi-Metallic - **Vehicle Service Type:** Automotive ## Images ![BOSCH BP978 QuietCast Premium Semi-Metallic Disc Brake Pad Set - Rear - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/511Bjx6324L.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Do these come with the wear-sensors? The picture would indicate yes, but no mention of them in the description.** A: Yes, they do, and it's a set of 4 pads. Amazon needs to update the info. **Q: Do I have to buy additional brake pad sensor?** A: The front comes with sensors and the rear do not. Only the rear brake pads needs sensors. One per rear pad. **Q: How many pads in this item. If i want to replace my rear two side pads, how many item should i order?** A: This is for the whole rear axle. 4 pads comes with this kit. **Q: so would this be ok for rear replacement pads for a 08 porsche cayenne?** A: I don't know if they will fit but I would look at something else. I replaced all the pads on my 2011 Q7 with this brand and totally regret it. Should have gone with the OEM or something else. My wife even notices the difference and has been asking me to replace them. You will definitely notice the lack of braking force with these pads. ## Frequently Bought Together - BOSCH BP978 QuietCast Premium Semi-Metallic Disc Brake Pad Set - Compatible with Select Audi Q7; Porsche Cayenne; Volkswagen Touareg; REAR - BOSCH BP1014 QuietCast Premium Semi-Metallic Disc Brake Pad Set - Compatible with Select Audi Q7; Porsche Cayenne; Volkswagen Touareg; FRONT - URO Parts 7L0907637 Brake Pad Sensor, Front --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/5515839-bosch-bp978-quietcast-premium-semi-metallic-disc-brake-pad-set](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/5515839-bosch-bp978-quietcast-premium-semi-metallic-disc-brake-pad-set) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-16*
