I purchased two of them to have in different parts of my studio space. Like others said at lower decibels the meters is not accurate but in testing it seems like around 85 dB and higher. It is pretty accurate to my meter. One of the two that I purchased had a failed section of the digital numbers so it’s going back. The long cord is nice.

After upgrading my home A/V system to much higher power, I got curious as to how loud (dBs) my system was playing. I came across this clock with real-time meter built in and it looked like just the thing. I really didn't want a hand-held dB meter. This thing can show the sound level at all times. It's been a cool conversation starter. It does not run for long on battery power so I keep it plugged in at all times. Do not expect it to run for long periods on just the battery. I happy I bought it and have reccomended it to friends.

Update 2: the manufacturer sent us a replacement and it works perfectly fine without issue . Update 1: 11/08/24 literally 2 days after leaving a positive review, the temperature gauge started going crazy, reading over 100° F when it's really in the 50's. The humidity indicator also started reading inaccurately at 90+%. Watch video. See pics. It goes from 193° down to 50°. Don't buy. . Works great! I like the color of the display. Battery life is about 3 hours. I leave mine plugged in .

The decibel meter tells my students they're too loud. I do not. The decibel meter has a number that makes other students tell "friends" to hush! 43.8 dB is so far my quiet class record. The decibel meter also requires a few classroom sessions to allow everyone to test their volume. Neighbors and administrators are not a fan of these days... However, I'm building a program with my students. The decibel meter and clock combo has provided me a tool for effective classroom management with student engagement. The faces are dumb though for the temperature!
