Better Than the Original Cartridges
As some others have noted, these cartridges fit more tightly than my three year old cartridges that came with the filter when it was brand new. I would call that a design improvement since the old cartridges just sat on the manifolds and I wonder now if there was any water bypassing them at times. Once the cartridges were installed I had nice low pressure at the filter gauge and increased water flow rate at the skimmer, vacuum and across the spa spillway into the pool. Pretty happy at this point. A word to the wise while we're here - what caused this replacement was the encouragement of my pool installer to use a pressure washer to clean the cartridges. Up until a few months ago I'd always cleaned them with a regular garden hose with a jet attachment. No problems. Cleaned them with a pressure washer and things started going bad. Reduced flow, had to clean the cartridges more frequently to restore flow, eventually I noticed two weeks after a cleaning that my vacuum wouldn't move on the low speed cycle of the pool pump. Read the owner's manual for your filter and heed the words, "do not use a pressure washer to clean the cartridges."I gave five stars for the product but at the same time I want to take this opportunity to comment on Amazon with their shipping on this order, it was really odd. I ordered eight cartridges all at once on one order. There were supposedly eight in stock. The shipping labels (eventually) said they all came from the same place in Kentucky. One was shipped by USPS and arrived on Saturday. Two were shipped by "Amazon Delivery" and at one point the status claimed they would be delivered by 8 PM on Sunday. They weren't. Some other "Amazon Delivery" items were, but not these. And the delivery person put the items by the front door and walked off without even ringing the doorbell. I have security cameras and watched the video recording to verify why I didn't hear the doorbell since I was home at the time. To continue - the two filters arrived the next morning on Monday via "Amazon Delivery" and again the packages were placed by the door and the driver did not ring the doorbell. Later on Monday UPS delivered a box with the remaining five cartridges. Both USPS and UPS rang the doorbell when they made their deliveries. So - I just think it's weird for one order coming from the same place to be separated so strangely and I am disappointed "Amazon Delivery" does not train their folks to ring the doorbell. Seems like common courtesy.August 23, 2016 Update: So the cartridges have been in use for four months and today it was time to clean them for the first time. A few months of Phoenix, AZ monsoons and dust storms and here we go. When water soaked, these filters seem lighter than the ones that came with the equipment when new three years ago. The paper seems to be some kind of textured material which is lighter and (amazingly) easier to clean. The ends still fit nice and snug in the manifolds. Still like them. Highly recommended.

One small issue with the fit
I have bought several of these from Amazon over the years, with no problems at all. But my latest batch of 4 (the number my filtration system uses) all had a minor issue. The serial number was exactly correct and the same as in all my previous orders, but the cartridges would not slide completely onto the receiving ports on the bottom of the filter unit, nor would the top alignment device fit into the cartridge tops. (The cartridges are symmetric top-to-bottom, btw.) It turned out that the top and bottom holes were all a few thousandths (of an inch) too small. I simply wrapped some moderately fine sandpaper around a screwdriver handle and sanded down the thin plastic rim that forms the edge of each hole. Then things worked as usual. If anyone reading this has a similar misfit, I hope this works for you.

Fit perfectly and boy did I need some new ones
First off, I have to assume the storage facility must be in my hometown because when I ordered them it said to expect a week for delivery (no biggie). Well, it was at my doorstep the next morning; that was a nice surprise. I had seen some reviews saying they were a bit tight but these went on my system no problem. I was happy to get Hayward brand at a good price. This is year 4 of our pool and it is the first time I have changed the filters (I was diligent about keeping the originals clean) but I remember 4 years ago looking up what it cost to replace them and was surprised how expensive they were. These were about $150 cheaper for the 4 than what I remember seeing. My old filters were literally starting to fall apart so spraying them down with a hose was not an option anymore. Glad I finally broke down and got some new ones that were Hayward brand.

Competitive price
There is a big difference between Hayward filters and generic filters. They are worth the cost for limiting algae in the pool

Tight fit must apply pressure to seat. Works great after being seated correctly.
Ordered these cartridges to put in the Hayward C2025 filter housing. My unit called for the CX480XRE. These OEM filters had C480E stamped on the end. I don't usually post reviews but after calling Hayward to find out if I had the right part since the XRE was missing from the part number on the unit. After they assured me we had the correct part I applied pressure as mentioned to get them seated and additionally to get the manifold back on the top. Should have produced a video on YouTube since I have not seen this mentioned anywhere. They were a LOT tighter fitting than the non-OEM parts that were in the filter. Had to apply pressure and twist into place.

what filter do I need?
I bought CX880XRE filter and these were about an 1" taller than the ones in the filter cartridge. The model # for the cartridge filter is C4025. Can someone help me on this?

Great Value
I could not get these locally for some reason - and tried to order at almost 2x the Amazon price! Great product, perfect match and arrived quickly. Thank you!

Great product and works/fits as advertised.
I was apprehensive about these due to other comments about tight fitting. But these have worked out great! They do fit snuggly, but they went on easily with a few convincing light taps from a mallet. I replaced four filters of unknown age and make and couldn’t be happier (unless they were free). Pictures show old vs new.

Overall good. Better shipping needed.
3 of the 4 were in excellent shape. One had a small crack on the top of the filter
