Perfect for specific need
I have a very select requirement that this old technology fulfills. I use my iPod Touch 7G as a video recording device when I'm in a car (I'm a commercial documentary filmmaker) and to keep the image stable I use a gimbled gyroscope mount. When I'm working I need equipment that is small enough to carry and can be activated at a moment's notice. The confines of a car make this especially tricky, and making a shot stable in a bouncing car is challenging. The motorized gyroscope solves much of this, but the iPod is not heavy enough to be held stable. So this gives me much longer battery life and enough weight (and a contact charging system) for under $20.Perfect

Works, but Meh and many design defects.
I'll agree with all the other reviewers. It qualifies as a 'Meh'. I have trouble understanding WHY the design decisions were made for this item. I happily used a PowerMat case for my iPhone 4s for many months. When I upgraded to an iPhone 5, I bought this, despite noting the reviews. The design defects are:1- Audio jack 'hole' is hideously small. I use an iLuv 'control adapter' from an old iPod Shuffle, and that works okay.Without such an adapter, I had to remove the case to use the audio jack.2- The 'open hole' for the lightning adapter is silly. Really. Why ?3- The case is flimsy and fragile.4- The 'door' over the mini USB 'charging port' on the battery is unnecessary and fragile. Also oddly placed.5- When the battery is placed over the case, the battery charges first, the phone does not charge. Poor design.6- One must remove the case entirely to synch with USB. Why ?A better design would have been to fill in the 'hole' and use the space for a lightning jack with passthrough to the data lines. Audio is readily moved through some sort of plastic port design.Duracell... you want your wireless charging to be used universally. Stop making adapter cases that suck !

Big, heavy, ugly, but does the job
I upgraded from an iPhone 4S to an iPhone 5S. I already had a PowerMat, so I looked into the case for the iPhone 5S. My first reaction was that the gap at the bottom of case was really ugly. So, I looked into the PowerSnap kit. At least the battery would hide the gap when looking at the iPhone from the back. This set up does hide the gap in the back, but makes the iPhone big and heavy. The hinges for the Micro USB port on the battery are flimsy and thus easy to break.Charging the iPhone with the battery: The iPhone charges first. When the iPhone is fully charged, the battery is then charged. Some users have reported that the iPhone is not always charged completely. I believe that the iPhone is charged and then the battery is charged, but then the charger doesn't connect to the iPhone again. The iPhone then runs the battery down a little. I check my iPhone first thing every morning and if it isn't at 100%, I reseat it on the PowerMat and it will charge to 100% very quickly. One annoying thing about charging, when the iPhone gets fully charged sometimes the PowerMat will switch back and forth between the iPhone and battery, This will cause the charging chirp to sound a few times. My overall assessment: I have gotten used to the size an weight of the setup. The case is still ugly, but I can live with it. For me, it does the job. So I gave it 4 stars.Answers to other questions you may have:The iPhone will charge with the battery attached using a PowerMat or using the micro USB cable that is provided (or any micro USB cable). You cannot sync using the micro USB cable. Remove the battery and the bottom of the case and use a lightning USB cable to sync or use WiFi sync.it does work with an iPhone 5S. The openings around the camera and flash are large enough not to interfere with taking photos. If you are like me and like a holster case, the Rocketfish Mobile leather hip case for larger-size handsets RF-UL2BL is a tight fit, but works great.

Not Qi compatible
After a month of using this it’s an ok product. At first the case wouldn’t fit correctly on my iPhone SE but after a few attempts it finally clicked into place. Inside the back of the case and battery are magnetic so that’s good for magnetic car mounts while driving. These do not work with ANY QI chargers. All my wireless pads give me a red error light so I had to buy the Duracell Powermat to get it working (PMA I believe, a different wireless charging standard). They’re pretty cheap so I’m satisfied with this product. Just disappointed all my QI chargers are useless for now.

The unit looks very sleek and was very easy to set-up
I purchased this Duracell Powermat Case & Battery for my son who wanted a replacement case in black. He already owns the white color. He enjoys the wireless charging capabilities for his iPhone 5s. The unit looks very sleek and was very easy to set-up! Just plug and put your phone in the charging case, and you're ready the charge wirelessly! It's that simple! I only wish they made a charging case for the iPhone 6 plus!I purchased a Duracell power ring that fits my iPhone 5s and 6s plus, thinking it could work with this Powernat, but sadly it didn't! The power ring requires PMA-3 technology, which this Powernat did not have. Overall, I am happy with this purchased.

Works but looking for a better solution.
It does supply extra power to get my iPhone5 thru the day but.Still tricky to get it on charge and doesn't always stay on charge either so often after an overnight charge it is only in the 80+% range. Coordination between charging the phone battery and the accessory seems poor too.Directions empathize how easy it is but are not clear.Unit gets quite warm when charging the phone battery. This low efficiency is probably part of why life is not as long as the battery capacity would lead you to expect.Attachment clips are too light to last long. Likely this is an income source for Duracell. The Duracell product is just not as good as the original Powermat product.

It's good for my purpose.
I purchased this to charge my iPhone 5 in our new gen2 Chevy Volt as it comes with an induction charge slot. It works for this purpose and even has the back up battery (need Micro USB to charge it).Normally i use a 2 layer protective case so this only serves as a back up charging method in the glovebox. This case provides minimal protection and Makes the phone longer as the open area at the bottom of the case just adds to the length. For my purpose it was a low cost way to have induction and battery back up.
