It's a perfect fit. for the Samsung 970 Evo that's fitted to my Dell Area 51M. I expect this SSD only has chips on the upper side in which case you can use the metal clips rather than the rubber bands. From photos, it seems that the SN550 only has two chips so would ensure that the two metal clips are positioned over them. **Q: This cooler will fit on the Asus Sabertooth x99?** A: check the specs for a size. it fit my WD blue one. they are all probably around the same size. as long as the chips are covered it should be fine. **Q: How come it’s advised online to not use silicon based heat sinks as it traps heat yet this uses them?** A: The rings are silicone which are next to useless as the heat generated by the nvme will crack them after a couple of months which results in the heaksink loosely attached to the NVME over time. The steel clips that it comes with are the better option to use when fitting this as these give a good tight fit and won't come loose. No issues ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very tight fit for 14" laptops - does the job cooling wise though. *by R***Y on 21 November 2025* Ok, bought this for a Gen 4x16 NVMe drive that was hitting 92c in a laptop under load, it works, idle temps went from 45c down to 28c and load temps dropped to 71c from the 92c... Very easy to install and relatively good value. Now for the downside, you are going to struggle to fit this into a laptop because of the height. It just about fits into a ThinkPad T490 / T14 Gen 1 & 2 / P14s Gen 1 & 2 bottom case but when I say "just" I mean it, getting that bottom case back on is a struggle and you can feel the bulge where the heatsink is. I have decided not to use the heatsink in the laptop because over time this is going to put strain on the case and probably the motherboard. Instead I am going to install a Gen 3 drive in the laptop as they don't get as hot. So to some up my review, the product itself works, is good quality and does what it says on the tin, it is secure enough in a laptop but your laptop will have to have a thick case. I thought It would be no problem in the ThinkPads I mentioned above but every mm counts here lol. It is cheap enough though to just buy it and try it.
