Review: Brilliant quality plants and fast delivery - We recently had a pond re-dug last autumn and needed some native oxygenators pretty fast as the residents newts had returned (surprisingly!). I had found Lincolnshire Pond Plants online but their delivery dates buying direct were a little bit slower so I ordered through desertcart. Needless to say the plants arrived the next day! They came in plastic bags, kept moist and were as described. Simply popped in the pond ready for doing their thing and keeping the newts happy.
Review: Good buy - Good quality, arrived well packaged

## Features

- Native Oxygenators. Oxygenators are thinned each season rather than left to reach full size. Cut fresh at our Lincolnshire nursery and packed damp to travel.
- Great spawning media. Submerged plants compete with algae for the same nitrate and phosphate. No planting is needed, so they can be dropped straight into the water.
- LOOSE AQUARIUM PLANTS, READY TO PLANT — supplied unpotted so you can split the bunch and place each stem where you want it, rinse them in tank-temperature water and remove any bands before planting.
- Fast growing Oxygenating plant. Grown or finished at our own Lincolnshire nursery. Packed to travel and sent to arrive in good condition. A planting guide is included in the parcel.
- 3 - 4 bunches per square meter. Despatched from Lincolnshire, so you know where it was grown. Lifted and packed to order rather than held in a warehouse.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: When should I put oxygenating weed in my pond?**
A: Any time from March to October while the water is above about 8°C. Spring is best: getting weed in before the water warms lets it take up nitrate before algae can bloom.

**Q: Do I need to plant oxygenating weed?**
A: No. Bunches arrive in lead or ceramic weights and are dropped straight into the water. They sink, settle on the bottom and start growing without a basket or aquatic soil.

**Q: How much oxygenating weed does my pond need?**
A: A rough guide is 3–4 bunches per square metre of surface, so 5–8 bunches for a small 2m² pond. Add more in a pond in full sun and fewer in a shaded one.

**Q: Is oxygenating weed safe for goldfish and koi?**
A: Yes. Elodea densa, hornwort and Callitriche are all grazed by goldfish and koi without harm, and give fry somewhere to hide. Heavily stocked ponds need topping up more often.

**Q: Which oxygenator is best for a small outdoor pond?**
A: Hornwort is the easiest — rootless, hardy, shade-tolerant and it overwinters in the UK. Elodea densa grows faster in full sun. Callitriche stays short, so it suits shallow water.

Hopefully it will survive, but wasnt in the best condition. Looks great in the pond and was a decent amount for the price and easily sank into place courtesy of the lead clip on the base of the bunches. Will update this post once I see how well it survives.
