I haven’t had the issues that others have reported — marker has worked great and I’ve done a lot of sheets of foam, still going strong.

Arrived quickly all cutting tools work great however the marking pen doesn’t work

Expensive but works great for packing a lot of tools in a small space with expensive Kaizen foam. I could have gotten by with an Xacto knife, but I figured I will be making more Kaizen cases, and these are the tools you need. The long-point marker is really important for getting the line close to the object. Then you set the blade depth to the level you need and go carefully around the inside edge of the outline. The fatter blade give you more leverage, but I found I used the thin blade more often because I was making a LOT of rounded shapes with tight corners. You can usually pull up the foam layers with your fingers, but in a couple of very tight and deep holes I used needle-nose pliers to reach down and pinch the foam and pull it out. You can wipe away the silver lines from the marker after cutting using a damp rag. The kit includes a bunch of replacement blades. At first I thought those were useless, but in fact the razor edges start to get dull and drag on the foam after a half-dozen holes, which can lead to ragged edges. So take advantage of the extra blades and swap them out to get back to the feeling of a hot knife going through butter. Make sure you are EXTREMELY careful swapping out those sharp blades so you don't get cut! Check out the photo of the carrying case I made for my band's collection of microphones using ONREVA foam with a red interior . I like the red "shadow" because it lets me know I forgot to put a mic away!

Marker doesn’t work when I first took it out I got a few traces in then it stopped drawing. I’ve bought similar long reach markers in the past they last a long time.

The title says it all! All the other parts of this kit are fine except the marker. The long/fine point end of the marker that came in this kit worked for about two or three line draws, then it went dry. I also bought one of these markers separately and it had the same issue.

I am very pleased with this purchase as it satisfied my needs!!

Muy completo el kit de herramientas, al principio me parecía un poco costoso, pero entendí que es porque son herramientas diseñadas por el fabricante y no son corrientes. Cada una de ellas viene en su propio blister de fábrica. Es bueno que los estuches traigan 10 cuchillas porque al menos hay suficientes para rato, porque por lo menos el set de hojas delgadas de refill es muy costoso y sólo traes cinco hojas.

Overall the kit is great but deducted a star due to the long nose marker being of very low quality and was already dry on my first use.

The reviews are correct. The knives are great - cuts like butter. The marker is absolutely garbage. It’s one thing to have a few one-offs where quality control is bad but 3 stars because the seller obviously knows the markers are largely junk. This kit should have been priced without the marker as it’s completely useless.
