No it does not. The material it's made of is significantly smoother to the touch than traditional rubber hoses, and it does not mark up surfaces it gets dragged across. The big advantage is weight of course, and it also does not seem to mold itself into a twist like vinyl hoses do. It is a little prone to kinking, but much easier to unkink than a typical garden hose. **Q: Are the fittings brass?** A: I believe the connectors are polished brass colored aluminum. I compared this connector with a known brass connector and the Maxlite connector was much lighter even though it is larger. A brass connector typically would not have a shiny polished appearance. The coating is probably intended to protect the aluminum but will quickly be scratched by connecting to the hose bib or attachment. It is too bad the connectors are probably not brass since most quality hose ends and attachments are brass and it is especially too bad they are deceptively brass colored. Did I mention it kinks? The rubber material is light weight and of poor quality. It is the worst hose I have ever purchased and will never buy another goodyear hose product again.
