Note: The original N64 controller instead used optical encoders but both methods are inherently ways of converting analogue movement into digital data, so neither is more or less analogue than the other. One extra thing to note with the miadore N64 controller is that the stick is too sensitive and suffers from overshoot (the controller reaches its maximum output in any direction before the stick has reached its physical maximum).
