Bates Motel: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]

Excellent series, plus, all of the discs actually played without problems. However, there are 15 discs in this complete set, with 3 discs packaged in each plastic disc folder. Three of the 5 plastic disc folders were broken. There is no way these could have broken AFTER they were packaged into the rigid box holding all 5 disc folders. They had to have been broken at the time the discs were placed into the 3-packs. Why on earth did the manufacturers let them leave the business like that! Makes no sense to me! Because the discs can now move around inside the plastic disc folders & are subject to getting scratched, I've had to replace the broken plastic parts with paper disc envelopes.

..And the view is the neon blue sign of Bates Motel in the parking lot! Okay this is a show that does what the original film could never do. I do not mean in explicit content alone either. The way this show handles mental illness is absolutely fascinating. I love love love the performances. Vera Farmiga is in a character defining role that absolutely and so does Freddie Highmore. I think this is an amazing addition to the Psycho mythos and my preferred entry if I’m being truthful. But it is just complete bananas. The Bates family will stress you out and by the end of it you may not be same as you began. It will hit in the feels and it can get exceedingly dark. So maybe if you aren’t in susceptible to depression hold off for a bit. Unless you truly need that feeling validated and using this show as a coping mechanism could definitely do that. But this is a perfect show. Great beginning and end. Doesn’t overstay it’s welcome. Now onto the physical media. The Blu Rays are amazing. 2 discs for each of the 5 seasons. 50 episodes altogether. You could watch this show without ever touching Psycho. But def give Psycho a shot first cuz there’s a ton of call backs and Easter eggs throughout the entire series including to the finale. This is a show filmed in high quality too. And you will get amazing clarity. Super happy that I finally have this underrated gem in my collection.

This series was created out of love for the original movie. It's 5 seasons equal 50 episodes and every episode continues from the previous one. If you binge watch it, it's like watching a very long movie but it always keeps you interested. It does seem as though the writers knew what they were doing right from the first episode. It seems as though the entire series was mapped out from the beginning to be a 5 season show with 50 episodes. The plot just continues in perfect continuity and ends on a very tragic but excellent note. Freddy Highmore and Vera Farmiga were absolutely perfect for each other as Norman and his mother. This series is suspenseful and keeps you on the edge of your seat at times. I like a lot of TV shows out there but this one is very special to me because it was intelligent and beautifully written. Every character in the series was important and kept the show going smoothly as a story. I don't remember ever having even one recurring character who was bad for the show. I couldn't stop watching it when I came home from work every day. I just kept wanting to watch each episode until it just got too late for me to stay up anymore. Great show, great cast, great storyline and one of my favorites of all time.

For those of you that loved the original 1960 movie "Psycho", this TV series delves into the early years of Norman Bates, how he and his mom purchased and fixed up the floundering motel, the troubles they faced early on, and how Norman himself started psychologically unraveling as a child into adulthood. This is a great series if you are a fan of fine horror plots! Each season gets more and more intense. We loved the series so much and are excited to own this complete series on DVD. Great casting, memorable, chilling plots as Norman descends into madness.

Excellent item. In my experience, Amazon does not consistently package their items well, but this time everything was fine and the box is in great condition.

It’s good, picture and audio sound good. The only thing is that I didn’t expect for there to be movie trailers at the beginning of the dvds..

Fun series, a little uncomfortable at times. Discs seem to be of high-quality and do not make the player rattle. Excellent box set no cheap cardboard inserts. If you want a copy of the series, this box set is the one to purchase.

Gutted I brought it as a Xmas presant after looking up my dvd player to see if it plays region one 1 it said online it will which wS a lie because it don't now I'm stuck with the box set I bought for my partner for Xmas. Now I have to find one that is region 2

Binged this series and it was excellent! Discs all worked well also. Worth the buy
