A: Hi, thanks for asking. Yes they do need to be. And one 50mm mite not fit another 50mm one. regards Andrew

**Q: I have a strap where the buckle has broken off,  Can this buckle be taken apart to fix a strap fixed at both ends to a suitcase?**
A: No this buckle does not come apart but you can thread the loose end through the grip slot at the ends and the secure.
I found the grips were not good enough on their own so stitched up the end once threaded through the grip.

**Q: Do these have to be stitched in ?**
